I am not a UFC fan but I can be the first to realize and admit that they have a business model that I wish boxing had the ability to follow... Stacked PPVs, the best fighting the best, and great marketing are helping the UFC become a huge player in the sports world... But could you imagine if all of boxing fought under one promotional company? I'm just imagining the PPV lineup we could have for this year alone assuming that all fighters were available to fight on one universal PPV per month...

May Carl Froch v Jermain Taylor
    Paul Williams v Winky Wright
    Zab Judah vs Joan Guzman
    Main Pacquiao vs Hatton

June Jams Kirkland vs Vernon Forrest
    Jorge Linares vs Humberto soto
    JMM vs Valero
Main David Haye v Wlad Klitschko

    July Adamek vs Cunnigham II
    Vasquez vs Marquez IV
    Floyd Mayweathr vs Andre Berto
Main Bernard Hopkins v Chad Dawson

August Victor Ortiz vs Timothy Bradley
    Mikkel Kessler vs Carl Froch
    Paul Williams vs Jermain Taylor:yep
    Main Cotto vs Mosley II

Septmber Nate Cambell vs Edwin Valero
Chris John Vs Juan Manuel Lopez
    Donaire Darchinyan II
    Main Pavlik vs Abraham

October Alexander Povetkin vs Ruslan Chagaev
    Tomasz Adamek v Bernard Hopkins
    James Kirkland vs Alfredo Angulo
    Main Hatton vs JMM

November Chad Dawson vs Mikkel Kessler
    Carl Froch vs Andre Dirrell
    Linares vs Gamboa
Main David Haye vs Vitali Klitschko

    December Berto V Shane Mosley
    Wlad Klitschko vs Nicolai Valuev
    Cotto vs Paul Williams
De La Hoya vs Chavez Jr
    Pacquiao vs Mayweather

I know some of these match ups seem a bit silly but my point is, if boxing could have a universal system of putting fighters together and sell these ppv's globally think how many they would sell worldwide... Is 15-20 million buys globally out of the question? I dont think so...:huh

So how does talent develop in this franchise of mega-fights?

From a selfish fight fan's perspective, it would be great.

Showtime and HBO would continue to have their shows as well as ESPN. Lets face it, its not as if the top guys are exactly going after the young talent we have out there right now....

The economics are different for a start, the UFC pays their guys peanuts so they can stack the cards more.

I do not enjoy MMA, but the way that the UFC is organized is just supreme. I don't think they have enough weight classes, I like the number that boxing has and how people can move between them easier, but one champ for each division really is the one true way.

Agreed but I think if the PPV was released worldwide and included fightersfrom all over the globe....The money would be astronomical, far more than the UFC has been able to do simply because they do not have the global impact boxing does...

I'm a big boxing fan and a casual MMA fan and I agree the UFC have it sorted. Its easy to follow who the champ is, who the contenders are etc. following boxing takes a lot more time and effort and a lot of casual fans just can't be arsed.

    hmm says...
shiii dude stacked boxing all the time would be crazy. I agree with Dinamita. I'ld say reduce the number of belts for each division... we got too many champions or rather belt holders and most of them I don't really know too much to follow or spark interest. It feels like just about anybody can get a belt or whatever which somewhat steals the prestige of the true champs that cause a better draw to the sport....some would think more belts = more big fights and more draw to the sport...... not exactly happening.

Remember thought that boxing is a sport, UFC is a brand of MMA. Its easier for the UFC control what it does that it is for any one organization to control boxing.

Is MMA getting bad now aswell? Isnt there another promotional company thats started up, so you cant tell who the true world champion is, its just becoming a house champ.

I like the way that they put young up-and-comers in against the seasoned vets. They loose but they come back stronger. I hate this thing in boxing of promoters protecting the undefeated records.
