If Bradley beats Marquez convincingly, Should he get respect?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Anthony Birts, Oct 12, 2013.

  1. I think Bradley lost to Pacquiao. Manny outlanded Bradley 253-159 in total punches and had a 190-108 edge in power shots landed. Manny outlanded Bradley in 10 of 12 rounds.
I think Bradley lost to Provodnikov. Bradley was busier and landed more punches- but Provodnikov landed the harder, more damaging punches throughout the fight.
I think if he beats Marquez convincingly, leaving no doubt in the judges mind or the fans mind that he won, he will get respect.

He should be well-respected already IMO. If he beats Marquez convincingly, he belongs in the p4p top-5.

wen he got off the deck twice vs holt an gotten up to win convincingly. he should of gotten respect. or wen he made devon quit. or when he moved up to 147 an outclassed abregu. even tho it was bs decision vs pac he should still get respect for fighting the best. then he should already have respect from the provo fight . instead of boxing all night he gave the fans wut they wantd to see instead of stickin to the script he was more into giving a fan friendly fight to win us over. even tho he shouldnt have to cuz if there is anyone giving him crap bout the decision over pac then thats bs because he cant control that

oh yeah and he is once again fightin another top quality fighter in juan so fighting him win lose or draw he should be respected

Respect.....Any body who gets in a ring deserves respect. Bradley definitely lost to Pacquiao. I don't think I even saw his fight against Propodnikov but honestly... Who had Propodnikov beaten before that?? We don't know which level of Marquez will show up tonight. But we know he is 40 years old already. He is definitely top 10 in is weight class. Of course the belt gets him even higher so let's say top 5 in the weight class. Not really a fan of his style. But he does have my respect.

Top 5 P4P?? Not even close

    Who'd you place above him?

He should have the loss to Pacquiao, but the guy fought valiantly in the fight with injuries to both feet.

Either way, I have a hard time thinking of many fighters who I'd put above him p4p.

I will probably never enjoy watching him fight but i already respect Bradley as a fighter.

My respect for him as a person went down a notch when you could see he knew he lost vs Pac big time then changed his attitude to try to convince others when he got the robbery decision.

If he does defeat Marquez in a convincing manner he will get even more respect from me as a fighter.

He should get respect anyway, he's proven to be a very good fighter. He gets unfair criticism over the Pacquiao decision, but it's not like it was his fault how the judges scored it. I have him slight favorite for tonight.

Firstly he won't comfortably beat a 40 year old Marquez

Secondly if he does beat Marquez he is going to claim he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Pacquiao will be like rematch me then *****? then Bradley will try and get a Mayweather fight

    Bradley will never be elite.

Bradley deserves no respect whatsoever even if he beats Marquez tonight, Pacquiao in a rematch, Mayweather at 154, Golovkin and Martinez at 160, Froch and Ward at 168, Hopkins and Stevenson at 175, Huck at 200 and the Klitschko at Heavyweight.

Why would any fans not respect Timmy?

    He should be respected already.

You're not a real boxing fan if you don't respect him already. If he isn't respected now it's disgraceful. You don't have to think the guy is the best fighter in the world and might not like watching him fight but you can't not respect what the guy has done and the determination and professionalism he always shows.

If he beats Marquez convincingly he deserves to be praised from all corners.

he deserves immense respect just for stepping in the ring, the pac fight has caused him unfair criticism. it was a close fight which i feel he lost, buuut he still boxed well and if pac had got the decision bradley would of had been given a lot of respect for lasting all 12 and making it close.

The provo fight was stupid, he was reckless and made that fight much, much closer than it should of been but fair play he made it exciting to watch!
