Briedis is a young 35, but he is 35. If he beats Dorticos, then he has effectively beaten all of the leftovers of the historic tournament, and should join Usyk and Gassiev at heavy. He already has a good win over Charr who (don't laugh) was "good" enough to be WBA "regualr" champion.

If he wins this, he should move up right away, grab the big money and start positioning himself fr an Usyk rematch for when Usyk is WBO champ.

Charr was tough material, only Povetkin when he was younger and in good shape, Klitschko were able to finish Charr and Briedis achieved the same like Povetkin vs Charr.
I think he is too small for HW, reach and weight difference with large HW guys too high. Maybe some fights in HW he might do well if in good shape, still doesn't looks that he might reign HW top3.
Usyk maybe he is able to win, if is in best shape and play different gameplan than is their fight with Usyk in WBSS. Maybe.
Large Fury or A.J ......not likely.

Briedis vs Whyte or Povetkin in HW looks might be sold well and with these if in good shape, he definitely might be capable to hang with.
Povetkin now is 41, Whyte enough slow and predictable if vs Briedis in his best shape.
Gassiev, did not had fights after WBSS, however he is young for HW and might be seriously improved after WBSS final.

Briedis is too small for heavyweight division.

Bit Small. 6'1 75inch reach isnt much to go up on.

Dorticos is 6'3 with 80inch reach, would suit him to go up.

Not much else to prove, might as well. If he wins who is left? A rematch with Glowacki or a match with the human octopus Okollie. Makabu would be fun but not going to make much on that

I think it'd be better for him to have a short reign as unified champ and try to get the belts to finish out his cruiserweight career
Current WBA super champ is undefeated so would imagine that they set it up

I imagine he'd move up for a big fight, probably call it a day. Money seems to be his main motivator. For example, he'd smash Dillian Whyte up, and that'd be a pretty big fight.

Yes, the CW division is a bit barren at the moment, with Usyk, Huck, Gassiev and Hunter moving up. If Briedis hangs about I can't see too many exciting matchups for him there in the near future. He'd do fine at HW. He already smashed Charr and has the speed and overall skillset to do a number on the lumbering slow behemoths that hang about there. Ruiz, Whyte, Wilder and Parker would get beaten, and so would Povetkin. I'd back him against Hunter as well which puts him firmly in the top five. Usyk would take him again, and I don't have enough faith in him yet to beat the likes of Fury and Juicy J. There are also a couple of fringe level guys that I think might give him some trouble like Agit Kabayel. But otherwise I see him doing just fine at HW.

Course this is all reliant on whether he beats Dorticos this weekend. If he doesn't this post is going to come back to haunt me like Hamlet's ghost.

I can't argue with him going up to HW and chasing big paydays. But I wouldn't mind seeing fights with Makabu or Goulamirian either. There's some other sleeping giants in the division but those are two top fights that he(or Dorticos should he win) can pursue at the weight of they decide to say there.

I'm really excited about Opetaia and Tishchenko who are both coming up. CW will keep it's quality when the old guard fully moves on.

I also don't think he would beat Usyk, but it would be a red-hot fight.

On a side note, Kabayel is a bit of an intriguing mystery to me. Against Chisora, he boxed nicely with a fast jab, lateral movement, and economic use of counter-punching and combinations. Against Rovcanin, he was an aggressive bull-rusher. Against Lazaridis, he was a dull plodder (I will admit I did not get through the fight).

I think the guy has talent when he shows up, and him and Briedis would set it off.

Might as well. How about him and Gassiev in the big league squaring off

He needs to fight more like the young Briedis again, throwing with full power, walking those big brutes into huge counters as they amble forwards and showing them what CW Level is all about

Huck is damn highly skilled but after getting banged by Glovacki, Briedis, Usyk, doesn't looks that he is in his prime, despite he is not older than Briedis.
Usyk? If picked another tactique Briedis might beat Usyk if he is in best his shape. This still doesn't means that he might dominate Usyk again and beat Fury and A.J each of them in 2 fights for example.

Depends from matchmaking, even guy that will lost Briedis vs Dorticos looks will remain in TOP10 and might charge 6 digits paychecks for at least couple of fights in CW or HW, depending from matchmaking.
Glowacki might talk a lot but if Briedis will not have belts, not likely he might be interested to fight vs Briedis or beltless Dorticos too.
Depends, will Glowacki defeat judges and ref plus ofc also octopus and get this supposed belt? If he will have belt, not likely he might wish to fight vs beltless droticos or briedis......

Murat is younger and does have stamina and power. Then in WBSS he had lesser skills than Briedis or Glowacki but there a lot of youth time to improve. Murat achieved stuff that most likely prime Briedis or Glowacki if in good shape had achieved vs Dorticos with couple of blows.
Future ofc looks more promising for Murat but he did not had competed after WBSS semi final.
Difficult to tell, btw the same about shape what Briedis too might have today.
