I don’t think he’s too far behind those guys in terms of skill. And even so, as you say, he has the time to improve on those things. You don’t have to be a master boxer to excel at HW these days

I still think if Gassiev gets back into shape mentally and physically he will be a force to be reckoned with at heavyweight

I can compare Murat precisity level vs Briedis level even as ammy KBer. It was not close to this level, no offense.

Yes, he is young and probably even 2 - 3 months might improve his precisity and polish skills a lot if compare with WBSS semi final.
Murat likes me and he is young, definitely might have enough time and physical resources to reach top level if Murat will have good health,
Props for fight vs Dorticos. Most watchable WBSS series fights for me were Usyk vs Briedis and it was damn close fight, Usyk vs Murat and Murat vs Dorticos. Gems in modern relatively boring pro boxing era............

I’d say he’s too small for HW.
Might as well stay at CW and unify.

I can't get too psyched about a Makabu fight. I think Briedis would handily beat him. Makabu vs Dorticos would be a more evenly matched and exciting contest IMO. Goulamirian is still a bit raw at the moment for me to consider that fight ready to make. Maybe in a year or so, but should Briedis wait around that long? At HW he's got the likes of Hunter, Usyk, Parker, Wilder, Povs, quite a few guys who'd bring out the best in him. Potentially Gassiev as well, if he ever fights again. What a red hot contest that'd be, if both guys are at their best.

Maybe for the likes of Fury and Joshua, but outside of that who's got the combination of skills and size to beat him? Wilder? He'd get peppered to death. Whyte? Likewise.

I'd love to see Kabayel get back in the mix. He's clearly a skilled operator but seems lazy or lacking in ambition to me. At his best I see him giving a number of top ten guys some very tough fights.

They had a clip on Youtube where he was being interviewed for German TV. My German is poor (more like non-existent these days) but it said something in the description about "depression." So he might have some issues.

No, he doesn't have the big, one punch power to campaign at HW.

Very underwhelming fight. Both guys should stay well away from HW.

That's a shame if true. Another fighter, Alexander Frenkel, had to quit boxing due to depression a few years ago. Odious disease.

I think he might insist if fight vs Glowacki happened to do this in HW division not CW vs Glowacki. It will be smart move.;)
Regards to HW for long term, I think that not that lucrative. He is 35 and a bit smaller than Usyk, this moved up and still did not had get much recognition, only penciled Spong that had been replaced vs Whiterspoon. Not top 10 or top 20 in rankings.
    This means not notable fight.
Fury and A.J are too large for him, okey, A.J might be clinched out but he will avoid clinch, Fury is not only too large but also clinches very good.
I think therefore Whyte had fight with 41.y.o Povetkin instead of A.J or negotiations about fight vs Fury: these might sell better than vs Povetkin, still doesn't looks that Whyte might defeat these large giants. They also are relatively young for HW, especially for such large size HW boxers like A.J or Fury. A.J even looks younger than is on paper too, I easily might gave him some 27-29 not more.
