I don't think Sartison can unify, because Ward is Super Champ. What would happen if Bute won and they let him keep it - there would be two super champions? Sartison's a paper titlist anyway who beat a nobody to win the title.
In some ways I'd rather see Brinkley get a shot than see Miranda get recycled one more time. I do not think that Brinkley has a snow balls chance in hell, but Miranda has had 4 chances to step up and win at the elite level, and couldn't get it done. Brinkley hasn't had his shot yet.
Shitligz already state he won't fight outside Germany so i guess he want to keep his belt and will never accept a fight with Bute. But i will love for Bute to get a chance to unify!
I think the only reason Stieglitz fought Andrade in America is because it was an IBF eliminator. Now, Stieglitz has a belt, he probably won't risk it so soon.
How sure are you?Miranda then? Romanian media reported Bute-Brinkley for april today with HBO televising.
Yeah, that's almost a certainty. Brinkley is notoriously soft to the body, and with Bute's money punch being the counter left uppercut to the gut, I don't see Jesse lasting longer than 5 or 6 rounds. Hopefully Miranda ends up getting the call. He'd at least have the proverbial puncher's chance. Bute-Brinkley has no intrigue, whatsoever.
It's my opinion that the reason Brinkley is so soft to the body is that he is a middleweight who fights at 168-175. Losing that last few pounds requires a level training that Brinkley has not been willing to commit to. I like the guy, and I wish he would forget Bute, drop to 160, and go after Sturm or Sylvester. Either that, or just settle for a career as a famous club fighter.
Miranda already got the call. He got it way before Brinkley did. But he was unreasonable with his money demands at first which forced Interbox to start looking elsewhere.
