He always gets himself into a lot of trouble. Now in the biggest victory of his career he will definitely see more problems come his way than ever before.
I just think that either way, he will go back to his usual BS.

 

My guess is roughly the same place he is now. A relevant name beating fringe contenders and picking up lightly contested belts and holding them till he gets a top level fight (or he can't make weight). A top contender and a tough test for great fighters but clearly not the top at any division. There is no shame in that.

 

Broner has already showed a higher ceiling than Berto. He's shown
more toughness than Zab (by no means is he as highly skilled though).
I think these days, losses mean too much.

I think back to guys like Iran Barkley, numerous losses but he was still
always in the mix as a top guy in his division. Even now, some
fighters have numerous losses and are still talked about, Glencoffe, Soto,
Salido, etc......losses aren't the end all be all, not if every once in a while
you can pull a hattrick.

I think I get Badbot's post asking whether Broner can turn his life around in one fight.

I think Broner has to turn his life around, too, if he wants to improve both his fighting and potential for any kind of positive future. What I have seen written about him- mostly- is what a waste of talent he has been. He is going to wake up one day in the not so distant future and realize that he is no longer more physically talented than the fighters around him. It will be sad when he realizes what he could have been. It will also be too late.

I have never liked his shenanigans; I can't stand the disrespect he has shown to fighters and the sport. But looking at it from this perspective- I really wish that we all had seen what he could have been. Maybe remarkable.

 

The breadline.

 

Broner is too damn flawed. Yes he is naturally gifted, but his boxing fundamentals are not strong.

He has ALWAYS been overrated simply because he is a very marketable fighter.

Imo his fight against Quintero could have easily been a loss, imo he clearly lost to Ponce De Leon, and he could have lost to Malignaggi, and lost to Porter and Maidana.

Besides his loud persona, and his god given gifts, he has never shown me he deserved all the hype he was showered with.
