If Frank had being a contender in the early 1940 s, how far does he rise. Who does he take out and who poses the problem s for him. A title shot against Louis looms probably but that's a foregone conclusion??
He wouldn't have done much. I think he'd have been a quality contender, but he wouldn't give Louis much problems and I don't think he would have beaten Charles either.
Bruno would crack the top ten for a number of years but I don't enver envision him walking into ring as a challenge for Joe Louis and walking out as the new champion. He would have mixed results against a number of fights and I actually have serious doubts about his ability against LHW sized fighters due to his slow hands and stamina issues.
Same story as in his own era really. He would have built up an impressive winning streak, but come up short against the very best. One title means that he almost certainly never holds it. The fact that he was based outside the USA, would have posed problems as well.
I see him up there for a few years to. But I can see him fighting more regular and would take its toll on him. A fresh, young Bruno against Louis, I see it similar to the Witherspoon fight with Frank doing good until fatigue sets in and Joe takes him to pieces.
Possibly gets two as you say. But Louis s rematch s always had his opponent coming off worse so Bruno gets a battering.
Bruno fought in the best era ever imo. In this era he'd beat all the small guys and maybe lose to Louis. But he'd outjab Louis before probably gassing late.
He'd probably beat a lot of the 50's guys. I'd pick him over,Lastarza,Layne,Mathews,Cokkell, and maybe Valdes.
Yes I think he would. Can't really see any troubling him to much. Don C imo could probably go out faster against Bruno even than he did Marciano. Bruno s Jab would batter his face and body, soften him up for a powerful right to have his legs going. Matthew's, can see Frank taking him out fast to.
Yes, but it is also conceivable that he could lose to somebody like Elmer Ray, before he even got to the champion.
