Tyson was not in his prime when he fought Douglas, where the **** do you get that from...... Mike was physically and mentally ****ed for that fight, he trained if thats what you can call it 50%, he was partying and banging jap bitches all the time he was there,, taking nothing away from buster he fought a great fight, mike has only got his self to blame, Tyson 85 - 89 no one would of live with him.......:bbb:bbb

buster douglas beat tyson who was over confident and not training like he should have been, but regardless of that upsets happen in boxing sometimes and thats just the way it is....not that im trying to take anything away from buster because he had alot of **** going on in his personal life and maybe the fact he clearly came into the fight wanting to win it alot more then tyson did had some impact on the outcome.

But a prime trained up tyson, would have beat buster and would def have beaten prime vitali too

Tyson wasnt in his prime when he fought Douglas. His prime ended after the Spinks fight when he split with Kevin Rooney.

Look at how Tyson fought up until the Spinks fight and then watch the two fights he had before Douglas - Bruno and Williams. Completely different fighter.

Witout a doubt,,, i dont think that Douglas wanted to win it more than Mike but he sure took advantage of a major below par Tyson, and also the long count, it looked like Buster new he was not gonna beat the count of ten but the slow assed ref won him the fight..:fire:fire:fire

When Cus died Tyson wasn't even champion yet. He was 19 years old. So at 19 you are saying he was already out of his prime? :huh BS.

why do you take one guys worst performance and not take into account he was bored, 9th title defense , already made 100 million and he was all of 23 years old.
your entire post is made up of every recycled tyson cliche ever said and its pretty obvious you werent around when he was at his best

douglas could have gotten up at the count of 3 if he wanted too...he was clearly taking all the time and watching the ref count the entire time....mike got his ass kicked that night...he was "sub par" for one reason ....buster douglas....he wanted the fight more

A lot of HWs would have beaten the version of Tyson that turned up in Tokyo

Douglas was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time

The Tyson that Douglas beat, was in strip clubs more than he was in the gym.

Whose fault is that? That is an excuse. What we know is that Buster was better on that night than Tyson and Tyson was not "shot" or past his prime at 24 years old. Sorry.

Vitali vs Tokyo Tyson, Vitali would almost certainly win

Vitali vs 88 Tyson, I wouldnt fancy his chances

Disagree...:nono, Tyson was not even moving his head this fight, when in close he was not throwing anything, just relying on one big shot, his own fault for sure, but Douglas fought as well as he ever had, just lucky Mike was very very poor that night....

If you want to draw a conlusion that Vitali was better than Tyson because of those 5 common opponents... well, by the same logic, Tyson should be levels above Ali since he demolished both Holmes and Berbick, while Ali barely won a couple of rounds in both fights :patsch

I dont normally reply to morons, but ill make an exception this time

No his era was just as similar to most other heavyweight greats., The worst era is this era. There was only 2 golden periods, the 70s and the 90s. The 70s had the classic fights, whereas the 90s had all the star power but lacked the fights. Tysons era was no different to Marcianos, Listons, Pre exile Ali and Holmes era.

    Proof please

Who says a fighter cannot be past his prime at the age of 25?

Watch this and then never ever show your face around here again.
For those who dont want to watch this,
TYSON ASKS DOUGLAS TO HIS FACE, FOR A REMATCH.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIeHdxMbdq8[/ame]

Heres the reasons why there was no Tyson/Douglas rematch.
    a) There was no rematch clause, Team Tyson didnt think theyd need one
    b) Douglas didnt give Tyson the rematch, instead he went and fought Holyfield instead
    c) After getting starched by Holyfield, Douglas went into a diabetic coma and retired from boxing.
    d) He returned in the late 90s. Tyson and Douglas were going to fight in 1999, however Douglas lost to Lou Savarese, same Lou Savarese, who Tyson sparked in about 30 seconds.

Douglas was not a quitter. His first passion was basketball, his father a former boxer, Billy Douglas forced Buster into boxing, Buster really had no desire for the sport, which showed in his performances. Only for one night he had some desire, and that was in Tokyo in 1990.

He wasnt going to quit, he was annoyed with himself for getting careless against Tyson. So he punched the ground, got off the canvas and went on to win the fight.

No he didnt, are you thick? he was the undefeated, undisputed champion of the world. He was 37-0 when he fought Douglas
Only in Klitland can an undefeated fighter have 3 losses.
