dude i spoke to oliver mccall he and greg page were tysons sparring partners against douglas.....he told me tyson was on a partying rampage in tokyo...he told tyson not to take douglas lightly(mccall fought douglas 1 yr earlier) and tyson laughed....mccall told me him and page took turnes beating tyson in sparring his timing was off....and he just didnt have it....i think on youtube there is an interview with mccall telling the same story telling mike tyson not to take douglas lightly and tyson laughed....rest is history
Frank Burno had Tyson hurt and visbly rocked, but lacked the courage and will to follow up. This fight happened before Douglas pasted Tyson.
Well, for one thing, Tyson and his camp have said repeatedly that he didn't train at all for Douglas. Nobody expected it to be any kind of fight. Secondly, Tyson was up till the wee hours of the morning the night before the fight drinking and partying. Third, some people say there was a long count on the knockdown when Tyson dropped Douglas earlier in the fight. Fourth, the ref stopped the fight at the 8 count despite Tyson being on his feet waiting to continue. Personally, I think both counts sucked and that Tyson should have been allowed to continue. I also think Vitali would beat Tyson. He would put Mike in a position where Tyson showed he was never confortable with.
