Andre Dirrel is a good fighter . If Bute will have a fight against him and he will win it fair&square , I don't think that people , especially haters are gonna say that Bute fought with nobody ! The only problem of A. Dirrell is that he's not a good draw and a well known boxer in his country !! Pascal and Hopkins would be good money fights for Bute and good performances for him. Dawson is another good fight for Bute , as styles.
Anyway , Bute will have the supreme recognition only after he will fight and beat fighters as :Ward,Froch and Kessler .

Would BHOP abandon his title and risk HBO suing him for crossing over to Showtime. I highly doubt that fight gets made before April.

Same goes for Pascal. Would he come down to 168 to fight for Bute's title. It'd be an all interbox fight with 50/50 split on prolly 6mil+. Good $$$, but Interbox would lower the value of their LHW Pacal when Bute KOs him badly.

Tony Dirrel would rather be decisioned by Ward for 2 titles with a punchers chance than be KOd by Bute, fighting for 1 title with almost no chance.

Andre Dirrel makes some sense, but I think Showtime would have to extend his deal so that he could make $$$ building himself up after his embarrassing defeat to Bute.:deal

 

Because Bute has : boxing inteligence , speed , one punch K.O power , slickness , extraordinary footwork , body and head moving ! Top level fighters from his division had almost the same opponents as Bute : Ward had Bika and Miranda , Kessler had Andrade , Froch had Magee and Johnson , the difference was that Bute owned them. This thing can make you to think twice before to take a fight against Bute. Here is not about style make fights and Bute hes advantaged in Canada , here is about : This guy has beaten more convincingly the same guys that I fought , I could have really big problems with him. Froch had balls to fight with Bute but SHOTIME didn't want , and this is another obstacle.

You never hear much of Bute calling out the top guys, the big names at or around his weight. If he wants to be known as the #1, he needs to prove it and he needs to show a hunger for it. Sitting back in Canada and fighting the likes of Mendy, Magee, Brinkley, Miranda, and having to rely on the referee to save him in the first Andrade fight...well, it speaks volumes.

 

You're always going to get a barrage of answers here that are either drastically biased towards Bute,or clearly derogatory towards him.I think the truth lies somewhere inbetween.Bute holds a belt and feels he shouldn't have to give any ground whilst the others(who matter) feel because he wasn't in the S6,he shouldn't have the same power in negotiations a belt-holder normally would.I know this is easy to say when it's not my money (or face!) but I think the answer for Bute here is to do a"Ricky Hatton" and bite the bullet for one fight to get his name out there and prove he has the stomach for big fights against big-name opponents.Like I said though,easy to say theoretically.
It would prove an awful lot and answer a lot of questions though if he forced Ward's hand.

He is on the throne, he has nobody in front of him, only people behind him.

If Ward doesn't face Bute everybody can say that we never know if he is the best at this weight without facing a undeafeted champion with skills in Bute!
