If Bute isn't worthy of a shot at Ward, how is Dre Dirrell worthy of a shot at Bute?

I dont Understand why doesnt the fighter who can make you the

most money, that fanswant to see you fight and has expressed a

desire to give into your demands for the fightwhy not fight him and

if he's so awful you make a ton of money, earn another belt and

enhanced your brand and legacy seems like a winner to me

I actually think that Dirrel is one of the most talented fighter in the division, i think this would be a good fight for Bute.. Its a shame Dirrel hasnt got abit more heart because he has everything else..

    Dirrel :
    - No fans ready to pay real money to see him
    - No title
    - No fame
    - Coming back from an injury

    Bute :
    - Champion for the last 4 years
    - Make a lot of money
    - Want to add big name to his resume

.... Dirrel isn't such a big name. He's no Ward, Froch or even Hopkins.
Dirrel might be better than Bute, but what I'm trying to say is that Dirrel needs Bute a lot more than Bute needs Dirrel. So if Dirrel want that fight to actually happen and get that title shot, he should be ready to bend over, go to Montreal, accept whatever money is offered... and then if he become the champion, then he'll be able to call the shot and make money. But if he's too greedy and doesn't agree to go to Montreal, someone else might get that titleshot against Bute

Dirrell is to Bute what Bute is to Ward. The point of this entire thread. :D

Great talents, but not enough substance on their records for the bigger dog to get credit if that bigger dog beats them.

Based on the reason Ward declined the Bute fight for, Bute could legitimately decline a Dirrell fight. Bwahaha.

Hey, Ward thinks Bute's record is that much inferior to his own.

Now now now. From Fat Dan @ ESPN......

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/7372586/andre-ward-lucian-bute-bout-looks-unlikely-time-being

Showtime's priority, however, is the same as that of many boxing fans: to see Ward face Bute. New Showtime Sports chief Stephen Espinoza, who replaced Hershman when he left for a similar gig at HBO Sports that begins next month, made that very clear.

"That is the natural fight and something I'm prepared to turn the heat up and put [on] pressure to make it happen," he said.

Showtime turning up the heat?? Money wise?

Very interesting to know that the S6 champ is tied to them for now, considering Bute is under contract with Showtime for ONE more fight.

Dirrell has a better single win in Froch than anyone Bute has beaten. The difference in resume's are not the same. Ward's resume is significantly better than Bute's is of Dirrell's.

That doesn't make Dirrell an "A level fighter" which Ward says Andre Dirrell is. If assessing purely on talent, Bute is also A level.

Dirrell has the talent to be an "A" level fighter. He gave Froch all he could handle and dominated AA for about 8 rounds.

Bute hasn't been in the ring with a fighter even comparable to those two. That's why he is the great unknown.

If I'm Dirrell's handlers and he looks good on Saturday night, I would advise him to go to Montreal, take the money, and box circles around Bute.

 No, I actually watched the fight. Where Froch didn't land a single decent punch. What rounds did you give to Froch?

 What a dumb pathetic back out :patsch.
Dirrell challenged for a world title. Do you expect the champ to travel?
You must thing Froch is a hero having had 5 of his last 6 fights on the road. Travelling as a world champ most of those times where he had everything to lose and nothing to gain, and even then Froch is fighting Bute next.
You think Dirrell challenging for a world title is the be all and end all :patsch
