If Bute vs Pavlik is going to happen , where it should be ? ( the venue )

Surprised nobody has mentioned Atlantic City.

This fight won't sell out MSG, maybe the theater at MSG, but could sell out Boardwalk Hall. Lower taxes than NY or Canada, so the fighters take could be pretty solid. There are a ton of Canadians and frenchies in NYC, plus it is within striking distance of Youngstown.

As far as pay, Pavlik knows he is re-building himself right now. He's no longer one fight away from being middleweight champ and shouldn't have any illusions about a bigger payday being on the table. The promoter most likely to price a fighter out of this fight is Bute's. Bum in Canada makes them the same as Pavlik anywhere.

 

it needs to happen where it makes the most sense - which is montreal.

pavlik doesn't have the power any more to demand his fights take place in the states. go where the crowd and money is.

 

He did, but since that time Top Rank and Dunkin etc set him down and bust his bubble. Since then he has fought off TV, on espn Friday Night Fights, and an undercard on HBO.

Bute should fight in the US like Adamek. New York wouldn't be hostile, I know plenty of Romanians in town. And the Canadians would also come.

Bute won't fight Froch if he loses to Pavlik especially since it would probably mean a second brutal type stoppage.
