Would they be considered the greatest boxers in British history lol? You know like Hatton will be crowned once he beats Mayweather?
Hatton will be crowned greatest boxer in British history because he will have the best wins and record of any boxer in british history. If he wins he'll be 44-0 with wins over Kostya Tszyu and Floyd Mayweather, two greats
White and English at the same time. Its weird, I feel that they have accomplished more then Hatton, but everytime Hatton wins its "the greatest victory for a British fighter ever" and so on.
Nope a serious question. I read in an article that Hatton will be proclaimed the greatest british fighter ever if he beats Mayweather. Which is silly considering you got the undisputed king of supermiddle and 3 time WBC champion Lennox Lewis to contend with. For instance, Hattons win over less then prime Tszyu was proclaimed the greatest victory in British boxing history, so it got me thinking the English media's got the hype machine rolling. Calzaghe's a mofo, beat kessler like a ***** at 35 years old. Lennox beat down Holyfield and left Tyson in the ring like a bloody pulp. Hatton beat...Castillo and an old Tszyu.
The greatest record of any boxer in British history ??? 2 great wins is not the greatest ever . Madness
There is more media intrest. I think if Ricky somehow manages to beat Mayweather. Then his best two wins will be a mile better than any other british boxer. But his other comp is too weak to be No.1 if he unifiyed 140 after he would have a shout. If he beat Cotto also he'd be up there all time. Never mind british. But I doubt it will happen.
