I don't actually think Berto and Khan should be anywhere near the top 10 but some people may well believe they are in the top 10 talented boxers without placing them in their P4P lists.

Calzaghe has been protected by Frank Warren for a long time. Yes he did eventually step up and beat Lacy and I respect that but that doesn't mean he wasn't fighting hand-picked opponents for a long time.

That is how Frank Warren works. His boxers win minor titles and defend them in their own backyards against hand-picked guys. Look up the records of Johnny Nelson, Ricky Hatton and Enzo Maccarinelli. Calzaghe has been no different. Nelson wasn't in the top 10, Defending the WBU title didn't put Hatton up there and Maccarinelli isn't there so why should beating Lacy push Calzaghe into the top 5?

I seem to remember Calzaghe virtually begging to fight Taylor.

I can't say I have a problem with the top 10 for sure. I don't get into the p4p deal too much because IMO I would be disagreeing with most lists I've seen. I surely can't get how guys with losses, much less fairly recent losses are on the lists.

Very good point, thats why Wright, Bhop, Taylor should be outside the top 10 anyway, JC is above all of those for sure!

Sure, Taylor is an easy fight for any talented, P4P level guy who can finish fighters, so any would want the acclaim from thrashing him.

Though, Pavlik already KOed him, so Taylor's worthless.

Calzaghe/Kessler are better than anyone Bhop beat and he's in the top 10. So whoever wins should easily be in the top 10.

Do not undermine the defensive mastery of Hopkins. As I see things, Calzaghe would be lucky if he won 4 rounds against B-Hops.

Kessler should be top 15 but not top 10. Hatton is at #9 and him being undisputed JWW champ, aswell as 147 titlist and wins over Castillo & Kostya clearly puts him above Kessler. Cotto also has a better resume than Kessler so even giving Kessler the benefit of the doubt, he is still at best a top 15 p4p.

Id put him 3rd behind PBF & Pac. All 3 dominates their opponents in victory, Pac probably more so than the other 2. PBF & Pac both have multiple p4p wins on their records and p4p, have gone up several weight divisions to conquer heavier guys. Calzaghe is undefeated but so is PBF, Pac isnt but considering he has only lost once in the last 8 years to an ATG and has come back with wins he still holds a very strong spot there. So yeah, PBF, Pac, Calzaghe.

Against a prime Bhop fair enough. Now it would be a massacre. I'd be seriously pissed at either Kessler or JC taking on Hopkins. Tantamount to beating up an old man. Both he and Winky looked awful in their recent matchup.

What has Calzaghe done to be above Hatton?

For one, his resume is better, when you count how fights are won. Also, unless you really think a shopworn Castillo is a resume mark, then you would account that. The Tszyu win is Hatton's biggest achievement and a good win.

We also cannot discount Hatton's H2H status, as he looked **** at 147 and lost by a point to Luis Collazo of all people on my card.

Calzaghe is simply a better fighter.

    Exactly!

I'm always baffled by the number of people who sell Hopkins short. Inexplicable!!

Hopkins's opponents usualy look as if they've been raped and impregnated by bout's end, whereas Hopkins appears as if he could easily go another 5 rounds.

He would make mincemeat out of Calzaghe.
