Hopkins has defeated three men who were universally recognized as top ten pound-for-pounders when he fought them--arguably top five.

Calzaghe has never fought anyone with that distinction--ever.

Tarver, although I ****ing hate him, is better than anyone on Calzaghe's resume. So is Winky Wright and so is Jermain Taylor. So is the undefeated Tito Trinidad that Hopkins destroyed. :deal

That's the whole ****ing point!! Calzaghe has never faced the type of elite opposition that Hopkins has!

Tito was middleweight champion when Hopkins fought him, and Winky was universally recognized as a top five pound-for-fpound pugilist. He and Hopkins were both recently had fights at 160 prior to this.

    Nice try, bucko.

Calzaghe ducked fighters for 10 years fighting in his home town, most of the guys he fought as champ I never even heard of before.

amazing as he is,i really dont think bernard fancies this fight rumsy.
im sure you disagree, but watch;i'll bet the sticking points come from your boy.
moreover b hop isnt great box-office so he doesnt have THAT much bargaining power.
He's usually the b side of a blockbuster.

Wilson, that's really not the way that went down. There are two sides to every story, but I doubt even Joe C. wouldn't agree with the way you characterized that situation.

Nard would get proper ****ed and he knows it.
Calzaghe is too fast too strong and too crafty.

You doodle dandies need to get your myopic glasses off and respect boxers for their abilities rather than their nationalities otherwise you aint gonna have anybody left to support soon.

If Hopkins don't fight Joe who will he fight? nobody. Joe C will be his last fight in his career and he will beat him in his final fight. Hopkins won't retire with a lost in his final fight in his career.

Bernard is a boring fighter, he is way past his prime. He isnt worth the money he thinks he is because he cant knock anyone out. He needs to fight somebody or retire.

    Who?

Oh god your not going to say Trinidad are you?:rofl

To be fair to that little soap dropper I'd pick him prime for prime against Joe. But unless that abysmal effort against Winky was a fluke then he's too old.
Personally I think he's to smart to take this fight.

My guess is that Hopkins will price himself out of a fight with Calzaghe...............again!

Maybe Roy Jones Junior will step up to the plate if he demolishes Trinidad in January?
