if Calzaghe came back for 2 more fights

Its ashame Warren held him back from so many marquee fights in the later part of his career because he turned out to be a real fighter with a good mean streak. He would have been competitve in a lot of the fights he missed out on, and I have to say based on his fights with Echols, and Brewer, I never thought much of him.

 

he would fight the winner of Kessler/Froch or Bute....168 is the division he lived at, so if he was to comeback that would be the place to hit, however if Dawson is still there that would be a good one....at this time I would pick Calzage by UD vs all

 

He's had so many opportunities, and even to the very end we're all hoping and praying the ****ing idiot takes a select handful of them all and makes something of his career. :-(

 

Calzaghe should stay retired.

When you get to his age you have to either stay active or quit for good.

Is status as a great fighter is secured with anybody who will give him a fair assesment.

Nice to see a fighter retire with his marbles intact and enjoy his money.

Calzaghe has probably settled into life after boxing quite easily & comfortably! I seriously doubt Joe will ever return. I mean, its no secret Joe's desire to train was waning some-what towards the end of his career!

No doubt Calzaghe misses the cheering, the buzz of fighting, but I doubt he misses the training enough to warrant a comeback!

Only way Calzaghe possibly even thinks about a return is if a promoter offers him a ridiculous figure of about $20M, which is unrealistic, even more so in the current economic climate!

for any champion, there is always "one more fight" and after that, one more and so on...

his legacy is cemented. why come back just to defeat one fighter you have already beat and the winner of another you have beaten versus a limited champion?

 

I agree, he should stay retired he was showing signs of slipping imo ,and his hands are very bad now .I actually think he is over ,rather than underated.

 

i cant see joe coming back now, and i think its a good decision.
but if he did the only 3 fights i'd be interested in are,
hopkins rematch, to silence those who feel hopkins won, and to shut bernard up too.
Glen johnson. joe definately ducked johnson, and i feel he's a danger to joe, perhaps the one man who has a shot at knocking him out.
froch. it would be a huge mismatch with joe taking a wide UD but carl's gonna have trouble getting on with his ****ing life if he dont get the fight!
ive no interest in calzaghe v dawson, and to be honest feel dawson deserves a fight with joe even less than froch.
