Then that explains your irrational posts.

I've been a fan of boxing for too long and you have different stages.

Pre Stage 1: Casual fan watches an exciting with his dad/friend who is into boxing, he is really impressed with one or both fighters and gets hooked to the fighters. You could be a little kid or a grown man. In your case Calzaghe fight vs Lacy.

Stage 1 - The newbie: Fan enters the newbie stage of being a fan. He watches boxing following the fighters from that fight. The newbie is obsessed with only following that fighter. He knows **** all about boxing, but thinks his new hero can beat anyone.

Stage 2 Losing his hero: His hero loses or retires. He feels empty (Khan fanboys at the moment). Who will he follow now? By this stage, he may have realised that he actually just loves the sport but in most cases he's just a fanboy.

Stage 3 - Graduation: A very few get here. But they start becoming boxing nerds and start looking beyond national biases and start loving boxing for the beautiful sport that it is.

And then we have the Baileys, Jordan Davies, the Hatton fanboys, Khan fans who just come on EastSideBoxing writing deluded posts about how great their hero was and how he can beat any boxer from any era.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

32 stoppages doesn't mean anything. Calzaghe had respectable power back off his opponents. However, he never truly KOed anyone, they were all TKO's and stoppages.

Same with Ward, he's not feather fisted, but he had enough power to keep his opponent away. I would say they have a similar amount of power.

We all know what happened between Kessler and Ward.

Name any one of these fighters that you believe would beat Ward?

Who is this Calzaghe person? Is he in the UFC? I know this person whoever he is would not sand a chance against the GOAT at SMW . . . lol

Calzaghes only chance is his high output/low hitrate in the late rounds (eg Kessler, Bhop), pretty much the only thing he could do whenever he fought someone of decent skill or above.

Typical fanboyism with no IQ. The same people who worship the runners.

I dont know who would win. A lot of rubbish has been talked of Calzaghes chin on this thread/site. Yes, Calzaghe was knocked down a few times. Every time appeared to be flash knockdowns though. I never saw Calzaghe bandy legged say the way Martinez was on Saturday. Thats not to say he was not hurt during these knockdowns, but he certainly didnt show it. He proved he could come back from adversity, something Ward hasnt shown - yet.

hasnt needed to yet, you mean. Joe had to recover fast against some mediocre fighters.

yes joe had excellent recovery that was his other special ability aside from workrate/fitness.

Stupid question, displaying a lack of boxing knowledge claiming Hopkins is like Ward, old or otherwise.

Under-estimating Calzaghe as well. Ward's a special talent but it's not clear cut at this stage that he was better than Calzaghe.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins decisively, stop hating.

Ward beats a weight-drained nobody, and here you are sucking his nuts. Eff off.

he beat an old hopkins who was into his 40s and lost his title - same as jones
ward is a legit comparison because they are the best (and only) lwegit SMW champs in recent years
