    Please vote / discuss.

I tried to find the 9 most credible opponents, looking at fighters active between HW and MW. Obviously some of these would need to happen at catch weights etc..

Dawson is the only fight out there for him after Jones. I expect he will retire though.

He should probably just retire but most will say fight Chad Dawson. I think Dawson still needs to build himself up as a name fight a bit becoming lucrative enough to get Calzaghe in the ring. I also think he needs to rematch Glen Johnson first, a fight which IMO, he lost.

In a dream world Pavlik would fight Abraham, King Arthur would KO Kelly on HBO WCB/Setanta/ARD/over the world, Sauerland/HBO/Setanta would offer a large amount of mone, Calzaghe-Abraham would happen and we'd got a fight. But it's NOT going to happen. No way.

Kessler? Hopkins? That's the past for Calzaghe. Dawson, Bute? Great fighters but not big enough. Froch? Not the right time for that one (2010 would be). Taylor/Lacy winner? Well, one he beat, the other was beaten by the guy who beat the guy whom he beat...

Who then? I say the best possible fight is Roy and he's fighting him now. That's it. Dawson is #2, but it's really not that big and IMO it would be too early for Chad. Remember, he's already recieved a controversial win this year...

With Hopkins' latest performance (which makes Calzaghe's win shine like the Sun), the Roy fight is the logical last one. No one on the horizon.

After watching dawson against tarver that fights seems the logical step because dawson I would say number 1 at light heavy at the moment. From a selfish british point I would like to see him fight carl froch if froch beats jean pascal.

job done time to retire, leave dawson for hopkins to expose.

If he beats Jones convincingly then the only one I can see him taking is a Hopkins rematch at the Millenium Stadium or retirement.

If he narrowly beats Jones then expect a Jones rematch in the Millenium Stadium.

If he loses to Jones ditto.

Apart from that Dawson is the only other possibility but it's a High risk low reward fight. Dawson still isn't a big enough name to generate the interest from the general public so business wise it probably doesn't make sense for Calzaghe to retire with that one.

I think he should take out Dawson then retire with an undefeated record and a great string of victories to end his career.

I hope you are saying lmao because Bute is unknown, because after Dawson, he has the best chance to beat Joe

We won't see Calzaghe at 168 again.
