If Hopkins fought Calzaghe again, he would tire around the same point he did last time. Fighting Calzaghe is very different from fighting Kelly Pavlik, especially for a fighter like Hopkins. Hops could fight Kelly real relaxed.

I'd expect Joe to look bad again, and Hopkins would have his moments, but Joe would probably win more rounds in a rematch.

FYI, I thought Hops kept the fight real close the first time. I wouldn't have cried foul if they gave it to him.

 

Agreed. No fighter has controlled calzaghe, thats why he is undefeated. Hopkins couldnt thats why he kept getting tired. Hopkins controlled Pavlik thats why he looked relaxed and didnt tire.

Hopkins will ruin a rematch just as badly as he did the first match, Joe would just win another ugly decision.

I think Calzaghe- Dawson will be a horrible clash of styles aswel, two southpaw counterpuncher is never a good mix, but I see Joe winning clearly. Not because I dont think he is good, he obviously is, I just dont think he is that good. I beleive the only reason we are even considering him is because America is running out of options.

I expect to see Calzaghe box on, he is earning too much money, id like to see a Taylor fight then a Dawson fight happen in the UK before retiring at the end of 2009 undefeated.

 

No Joe was forcing the action and throwing the punches. Hopkins was hitting and holding, throwing low blows, butts and cheating to take a breather half way through. With a more competent referee we woul dhave seen some point deductions. Joe was an obvious winner.

As for Dawson, I agree he is talented and would be a challenge but he isnt good enough to beat Joe Calzaghe.

I think Hopkins is capable of making the proper adjustments, but Joe's workrate still causes problems for anyone.
