If Calzaghe does stop Roy Jones, can he do it with one punch?

Tarver and Johnson stopped Roy Jones with 1 punch.

IF Calzaghe does stop Jones (and that is by no means assured), can he do likewise, or is it more likely to be via a swarm attack, an accumulation of many punches?

He has no power, so no. It takes him 1000 punches to do anything to anyone.

If he put proper technique into it and sat down on it with all his power behind it then he probably could, but his hand would probably end up going back through his body and breaking his spine let alone breaking his hand.

I don't think he could get Jones onto the ropes for long enough to stop him on accumulation either.

Power is not the issue for Calzaghe it is that his hands are brittle so he never risks throwing bombs. Look at Calzaghe in his early days, you will find that Calzaghe stopped hi opponents more often.

No way he stops Roy,his power is as a JMW's,only if they agree Roy can't defend himself then I can see it

I don't think Joe will stop RJJ, I think he will win by UD, but as you ask what is the more likely way the fight would be stopped if it did go that way, then hypothetically Joe's best chance would be by a swarm attack, as that is the way he has won most fights in his career.

As you assert on another thread Pac, the fact Joe has 30 TKOs and 2 KOs from 32 wins would support this view.

Swarm attack. I think a TKO is possible.

Joes only ever knocked 2 people out for the ten count in 45 fights.

I think a 1-punch KO is definitely possible because Joe can hit as hard as Glen Johnson IMO, RJJ is a weak target these days, but a stoppage via swarm attack is more probable.

I think Calzaghe will win by TKO swarm attack. It will break my heart.

This is another fight we could do without. But it would serve Calzaghe right if he gets ko'd by Jones. Joe thinks Roy is sufficantly diminished to allow a Calzaghe showcase. But Hopkins showed that Calzaghe is vulnerable to tricky veterans. Calzaghe freaked out Lacy and Kessler, but Hopkins showed that a cooler head could prevail.

Calzaghe will take him two hits total.

When he hits Jones and when Jones hits the ground.

If its your opinion that Joe hits as hard as Glen Johnson... then your opinion is ****.

Joe will knock him out with a swarm of deadly power punches.

    Or maybe a jab/rangefinder
