will he eventually lose. Let's say he fights Tarver, Dawson, or Pavlik. All 3, 2 of them or 1 of them by the end of next yr, will he still be undefeated in the opinions of many?

He's going to lose to Roy Jones and there is no way that he fights Tarver, Pavlik, or Dawson ...

    he beats tarver imo.

but i'll be pleasantly surprised if he accepts the challenge from a guy like pavlik.

calzaghe's an excellent fighter but he's all about 'business', which includes keeping his '0' and retiring on it.

full marks for calzaghe for fighting lacy and kessler at that time, poor marks for wanting home field every time, and no marks for wanting to fight great fighters when they are at a combined age of 80+ rather than stepping up when they were in their prime and it mattered.

he could beat all of them but pavlik will present most problems

none will happen though, sounds as though him and roy might have a rematch

If he fights another year, he'll lose IMO..

Tarver, Dawson, & Pavlik are all threats to Calzaghe.. I do believe Dawson has the biggest chance out of all to defeat Calzaghe..

I think he crushes roy when they fight and than it will be pointless if that scenerio takes place. If he did beat all 3, I'd be very impressed.

He hasn't fought Jones yet ... who's to say that he won't lose to Jones coming up?

I think Dawson is the only one who stands a chance of beating Joe.

Look guys Kelly Pavlik is a good fighter but he isnt invincible, he had all he could handle with Taylor in both fights, and his style is suited to Calzaghes.

Pavlik is one paced and pretty predictable. What he does have in his favour is he is resiliant and he hits hard. But Joe has been in with hard punchers himself, Kessler, Mitchell, Eubank.

Kelly has all he can handle with B-Hop, remember around the 6th round of Pavlik/Taylor 2 Pavlik was panicking in his corner because he couldnt get to grips with Taylor, well if he was struggling with Taylor then he is going to have fits with guys like Hopkins and Calzaghe.

Seems that you don't think too much of Tarvers chances against Calzaghe.

if he fights another year then he is risking the 0.
he can beat taver with ease pavlik does not have the skills to fight JC yet and dawson is the harder fight of the 3.

He decisions all of Tarver, Dawson and Pavlik.

Dawson would be his toughest fight.

    **** i fogot about Tarver:patsch

To be honest i dont think Tarver would be all that competitive, he may be in the beginning of the fight but as the fight progresses i think Calzaghe will slap the fight out of him with his constant pressure.

Tarver fought an excellent fight against Woods, but fighting like that against Calzaghe would play into Joes hands imo.

this is what gets me time and again...even if you're right and you could be.

look at who pavlik has fought recently (taylor twice, miranda, hopkins)

now tell me four times joe has fought at that level any time in his career....

for some reason i keep reading people who judge fighters winning big fights but not doing it convincingly as a sign of weakness. i don't necessarily mean this comparison, but sometimes people forget that coming back in a hard fight can build character and resilience - and confidence.

pavlik's worked harder and taken more chances than calzaghe has in his career to get wher he is.

i'm sticking by guns with calzaghe (as you should all know by now).

i'm not criticising his skills though.
