If Calzaghe fought Hopkins' record at 168, Calzaghe beats everyone but prime Jones. Calzaghe is not and never has been a middleweight. Speculating about fights that could not have happened is pointless: DLH at 168? prime Tito at 168? That's idiotic. And a 160-pound Calzaghe would have been completely weight-drained, if he could even make weight at all. Anybody who came up to Calzaghe's world at SMW would have been out of their element- other than, obviously, Jones. And he would be out of his element in theirs. Tarver is grossly overrated, known for one thing, beating a spent RJJ. He looked pathetic against Hopkins.
I'm still waiting for this Angel character to tell me about Joe's gift decisions We've obviously all missed them. Come on, spit it out
You have no credibility at all, do you? You just make stuff up, when you have no argument, due to your lack of knowledge
Yeah its pretty depressing. This is a genuinely interesting topic with some fascinating matchups and a couple of dumb ****s from the "Calfaghe is a slapper brigade" have to turn up and reduce it to a slanging match. Whatever happened to discussing things like adults?atsch
He gets whooped by Jones, and Glen Johnson might have even pushed him. Hopkins would have one loss max if he faced the fighters Joe's faced, and that would be Kessler.
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl lose to odh :hey taylor atsch ffs @ tarver sorry he don't lose to tito either especialy not at 168 :bart
It's great that you are such an enthusiastic Calzaghe fan but you must realise that he's been protected for most of his career and is a level or two below a prime Hopkins. To suggest a middleweight Calzaghe would have beaten Jones, Taylor and Trinidad is silly when he was still fighting WBO title fights at that point in his career. And can you imagine Calzaghe moving up two divisions to beat the champ there? Look, I think Calzaghe is a good fighter but let's not all get carried away.
Have you seen Hopkins' pre tito resume? i wouldnt say it was better than joe's, pre Lacy... i certainly can imagine joe going up two weights to fight the champion there, though they would be 200lb guys, and the top 5 at cruiser are twice as dangrous as Antonio Tarver at 175! Hopkins beat Tarver at 175, nobody too special. Calzaghe dismantles both Tarver and Johnson. Stops Tito. And decisions Taylor over 12.
tito, dlh, taylor would all have to move up and chase him for those fights in bizarro world. tarver was busy fighting RJJ 37 times and getting beat by glencoffe. RJJ never materialized, but no party is guilty of ducking. one question, how many rounds before floyd gets joe out of there?
I love it when people say "Tarver, Winky, Trinidad" were nothing when Hopkins fought them. They were very good (Tarver) to great (Winky, Tito) fighters. Bernard Hopkins just makes them look bad, and he ruins their carrers. No way in hell does Calzaghe dismantle a prime Glen Johnson. A clear win more than likely but the fight goes the distance and Johnson takes at least 4 rounds from Calzaghe. There was a reason Joe did not take this fight when the Road Warrior was at 168.
