Given that Calzaghe has every single physical advantage imaginable over both De la Hoya and Tito coupled with an excellent chin, I fail to see what either of these two can do to beat him; they aren't out muscling him, they aren't out boxing him, they aren't outworking him and they certainly aren't stopping him.

This is an interesting post. It is legitimate in my opinion to predict a RJJ win over Calzaghe but all the others dont seem like major challenges for Calzaghe.

Think about the weight advantage over Tito and Dela Hoya they would not cause Calzaghe any problems, But Glen Johnson and a focused Tarver could go either way.

Basicly Calzaghe hasnt shown yet potential to beat any of those names. Hopkins is his first test.

He hasn't shown the potential to beat the smaller, slower, less mobile, less active, more predictable welterweights in Tito and De La Hoya?

I'd have thought winning every round against Lacy and beating the WBC and WBA supper middleweight champ showed at least a little potential, but I guess I was wrong.

A fighter that achieved nothing as a pro, getting knocked out in his only title fight and racked up stoppage wins against nobody in particular. Its a matter of levels, joe Lipsey achieved nothing. i have only seen highlights of him against Hopkins, but to be honest that was the only fight he was ever in - of any worthy note ofcourse.

I know all about Marcados abilities though, and you show your own ignorance in believing he is anywhere near the level of Joe Calzaghe, Eric Lucas knocked him out!!! Only fight Hopkins had to trave for and only managed a draw and was decked along the way.

Awwww. A thread to make Calzaghe fans feel good. Yeah Calzaghe could of beat these guys, but him being a guy that slaps with hardly any power and not getting those hometown stoppages and actually get warned for rabbit punching...Oh ..we might have about 2 Ls up there.

He might lose to Tarver and Jones but no way he loses to DLH.

I could see Calzaghe losing to Jones and Tarver, with a 50/50 against guys like Johnson and Wright.

Too many "Ifs". Calzaghe would have struggled coming up the way Hopkins did. We also don't know how a 40+ year old Calzaghe would perform, my guess is he would have seriously declined by then.

Calzaghe will be the best fighter to ever live aged 40

    He's like a fine wine
