Why the hell is this nonsense even being debated or discussed?

I don't profess to be a boxing historian, but Calzaghe is nowhere near the top 10, or top 30 for that matter.

It's probably just backlash from all the anti Hopkins threads and posts by the likes of Failey and Headgiver. Nobody thinks Calzaghe is top 20 let alone top 10.

Love the list btw... and I also love that you only threw in people in the last 20 years in there. ATG is ALL time.... if you aren't top 10 in your ERA you are not breaking in to top 10 ALL TIME!!

Calzaghe deserves more credit, the haters are just jealous honestly that he's better than both Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins.

They can't fathom a White Euro better than those guys, they just can't accept it.

 We can all fathom why Calzaghe beat Hopkins and Jones Jr. Hopkins was 43 and faded, Jones Jr was 39 and shot to ****.

Nothing unfathomable about it, pretty standard scenario in boxing. Most boxers in their 30's and close to their prime will beat boxers around 40 years of age mark and past their best. :patsch

  8. Totally agree. i think Sartison is seriously underrated.

Oh guys c'mon, he beat Hopkins fair and square, Hopkins was the champion.

See what I mean, the guy doesn't even get credit for beating Hopkins. People use the 40 year old excuse, yet Hop is the Ring Champ? lol.

The fact is Calzaghe landed more punches than Hopkins in every single round of the fight and it wasn't even remotely close after the first 2 rounds.

Nobody ever talks about him.. But he is pretty good.. Not an elite fighter at all, but is a good boxer with a decent skill set.

Should Valuev deserve as much credit for beating a 46 year old Holyfield as Bowe and Lewis get for beating a prime and slightly faded Holyfield?

No.. But Holyfield had his peak in his late 20's and early 30's.
Where Hopkins was at his best in his mid 30's..
IMO both Hopkins and Calzaghe was about 8 years past their best when they fought..
