How can you critize Roy for a flash knockdown against Lou De Valle, when Calzaghe just got dropped by a thousand year old Bhop? Sometimes it happens.

thats an american wish-list but its not true.

joe never fought roy in his prime because heø'd get sparked - which is why he wants it now.

tbh joe is suckering the british public with this 'legendary' fallacy. and if they buy it he doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

    Thats a good point.

I don't know if anyone else in the thread has pointed this out as i can't be arsed reading all the posts but i think the drastic weight loss after the Ruiz fight may have played a part in it aswell.

Roy does not have a glass jaw. Can someone name a time before the Tarver fight that Roy was on ***** street?

He took some decent shots from Ruiz and wasnt hurt so someone explain this glass jaw theory

Look im a huge fan of Roy and Joe and i dont think the Roy of today can beat Joe.But i do beleive the Roy of yesterday could and would....But that Roy is long gone...If you watch the Jones Trinidad fight you can see Roy cannot pull the trigger like he used to be able to and his reflexes and legs are diminished, also laying on the ropes plays right into Joes hands and thats Roys thing now because his legs are long gone......I dont see Roy winning but i do see him showing sporatic moments of his former self...

    Nope.

Roy had no glass jaw in his prime.

He'll almost certainly lose to Joe, because he's quite shot.

In his prime Roy would have won this fight.

So to answer your question: NO.

This forum needs a filter that deletes all posts by Rico Spadafora that have the words "glass" and "jaw" in them.

It'd deleted almost 80% of his posts, but it'd be for the greater good of humanity.

Also what is Calzaghe going to catch him with? A viscious left hand slap? Mark my words no one is going down in this fight. It will be an ugly ugly snoozefest.

I don't think Roy has a glass jaw. Sometimes people get lucky. The best pitchers sometimes give up a homerun. What Roy has done is like win 8 Superbowls, and he lost two.

The respect must be given for both sides. It is a fight between two titans, ATG versus ATG.

If Roy gets knocked out, I won't take anything away from Roy, the guys speed and power will always be legendary, but congratulate Calzaghe and his fans. But, I don't think Roy will get knocked out or hurt. I think the fight will be very competitive like the Kessler fight.

But, if Roy knocks out Calzaghe, put Roy #1 ATG, no doubt. B-Hop and all the rest will be left in Roy's dust.
