He beats one guy 117-111 (9 rounds to 3) and the other 119-109 (11 rounds to 1) and yet it's HIS onus to make the rematch happen?

    :patsch

Boxing and some of its fans these days.

Have you followed what went on between Hopkins and Jones as to why the rematch was never made ? And the rematch with Toney was never made becuase if im not mistaken he moved up to lt heavy than cruiser .Where was that fight going to take place when Jones was still a super middle ?But the fact that you said he ran for most of his fights says allot ..You must have only followed Jones for the tail end of his career ! He beat every lt heavy worth mentioning aside Darius what ever his name is ! Please don't discuss Roy anymore !

    :good

okay I understand you dont like RJJ, and you have every right to disslike any fighter, but your arguments to discredit his resume are weak. So please stop now.

the funny **** is that both Eubanks and Calzaghe both said that they didn't want to fight Roy in his prime.

Considering how badly he owned them (one of them with one hand hurt), I'd say he didn't need to.

You said it took Roy so long to fight Tarver because Tarver was a big puncher. Fact of the matter is Tarver LOST the IBF title emliminator to Harding, which would have put him in the ring with Jones in 2000. You were simply talking out of your ass when you said that, because you obviously had no idea Tarver would have fought Jones a long time ago if he didn't lose.

Just because Jones beat Harding does not automatically Jones could beat Tarver(even thought he has) but whats your point? He is supposed to fight the looser of the fight because it would be an interesting style matchup? I could hear what you would have said then...."Roy ducks undefeated Harding for someone Harding just beat"

I wish Tarver did beat Harding, because there is no way he would have been able to beat Jones in 2000. He knocked Jones out 4 years after the fact, when Jones had clearly slipped. He will always be remembered as the first guy to knock out a past it Roy Jones jr. Thats about it.

Tarver beat Harding in a rematch! He knocked him out! Styles makes fights. Just Jones would never go overseas 2 fight. Joe is fighting here.Who's the bigger draw? Not Jones! He never was either. Especially compared to the Pacmans and De La Hoyas. He Said repeatedly he never would fight anywhere else.

Roy Jones is an idiot. Bulked up to 200lbs for the Ruiz fight, and lost 25 lbs of muscle for a fight with Tarver a few months later. That definitely took a toll that he never seemed to recover from. I don't know why he found the Light Heavyweight division so enticing to drop back down to, he should have settled with Cruiserweight and made some noise there.

Jones is the bigger draw in this fight! Why would Joe want to fight him and not Pavlik? Beacuse of the money.

Jones is not the bigger draw in this fight! Jones should b going over there 2 fight but he wouldn't everybody knows that. + when it comes 2 pay per view Jones couldn't even draw flies. I'm not a Joe C fan but everybody knows him now thanks 2 all The hype Hopkins started. He's really going 2 cmake eve more $ when he fights Pavlik assuming he beats Roy.

Becuase Pavlik isn't a name yet.

I kind of understand people being cynical about Calzaghe v Jones, "its all about the money" etc (most fights are?) but I think it should be a classy, if not classic, encounter.

Better than watching an un-inspired fighter with no ring personality like Pavlik getting out-pointed by Joe :yep
