I'd be dissapointed for him but be happy for Roy.I'd say he ain't that good then. I'd be quite shocked if he would lose.

I can imagine people being harsh on Calzaghe but it's the same situation with Pavlik and people bringing him down now...

Calzaghe is the best 168 lbs boxer since that weight class was made and that fact won't change with a loss to RJJ...

Opinions wont change whether he wins or loses...he will still be underated/slated by the eurohaters on here...it will just give them more ammo if he loses. If he wins then he still wont get any praise for the victory (except maybe from the true boxing fans)

If Calzaghe looks as bad as Pavlik did against Hopkins, his legacy will be trashed. If it's a competitive fight and Jones looks good and turns back the hands of time then it should not hurt Calz., but Jones legend will grow immensely.

I would be gutted. No one likes it when your favourite fighter loses, especially when i have said all week he will win, but i would still think the same of Calzaghe but more of RJJ.

I'm rooting for Roy, but I don't see an older RJJ winning this fight. I will always see Calzaghe as a protected fighter, that came to the States to fight big named fighters past their prime. He is playing it safe, so if he beats Jones, I expect him to win, but if he loses his plan backfired on him.

a legacy isn't confined by one defeat, joe is a legend and surelly 1 of the greatest if not the greatest super middleweight ever, that said i think joe will overwhelm rjj and will cruise to a comfortable victory and put to bed once and for all the doubters to my earlier statement..........................

Calzaghe will win this fight, absolutely no doubt.

However, IF he did lose, then I think it would severely tarnish his legacy. Jones is shot, he was shot when he got sparked by Tarver and Johnson 4 years ago, and he's still shot now, possibly even more so. It would make Calzaghe look utterly ridiculous as he is open about the fact he chose now to fight Jones because of Jones's decline.

depends on the performance obviously. if jones suddenly finds hi old form then he will still be a champion in my eyes.

If Calzaghe does lose...it's almost a certainty he will fight at least once more. Who would he fight against at that point ?
