If Calzaghe loses to Jones does it affect his Legacy, if so how badly?

At this point Calzaghe's biggest win is Kessler. His fight with Lacy has been downgraded tremendously by two things: Lacy's performance and Lacy's own legacy. The Hopkins fight will be forever prefaced by the fact that Hopkins was 43 years old at the time and far from his best.

If by some stretch Lacy were to resurrect his career it would do wonders for Calzaghe. And imo Kessler needs to add to his relatively thin legacy. His record isn't exactly peppered with big names.

If these were to happen it would greatly benefit Calzaghe especially if he were to lose to Jones.

This isn't a cheap shot, but I don't think Joe's legacy is all that impressive to begin with.

And a loss to a further-removed-from-prime than mid-forties Hopkins (in Roy) will only make it worse.

I just read that HBO will be doing a 24/7 for this fight. Which means they are taking this fight very seriously and gonna promote it as a SUPERFIGHT, I am gettin even more excited now

cant see joe beating a legend like roy jones, all roy jones needs to do is hit the target... if joe wins its gonna be ugly n scrappy, he wont dominate jones

 

I predict this fight will go down much like the Hops fight (NOT stylistically, though).

Joe will claim to be the legend killer, but ALL he will do in this fight is affirm said legend (Roy, and previously Hops) as being a legend.

All while winning scrappily. Kudos, Joe; Kudos.

 

I think Calzaghe has to beat Pavlik (if he beats B-HOP) or Kessler has to prove how good he was - to cement Calzaghes Legacy.

I just saw a video on youtube promoting Calzaghe-Hopkins...and Cqalzaghe clearly says he wants Pavlik after Hopkins..... now he looks like he's just growing feathers.
