Has he achieved enough to be an ATG/ Hall of Famer? I say no, not quite enough.

Who cares about alphabet titles these days their all as crap as eachother. Anyway at least he's got one unlike your hero Fraudley who will NEVER win one of the 4 major belts.

Everyone who knows anything about boxing knows Joe has been the SMW champion for years.

Eubank was 33 when Joe beat him, actually younger than Joe is now. No one was saying Lacy was green before Joe beat him. Joe's beaten top contenders his entire reign, Prime Robin Reid would have beaten most SMW's today and he DID beat Sven Ottke who knocked out Mundine who most people see as Number 3 today. 7 Former world champions including Americans Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell.

If he beats Kessler he has done enough.

Ok, expand the question time, who achieved more, Benn or Calzaghe? I say Calzaghe was the better boxer and has the clean record but Benn went to the US and beat all the US opposition he fought (I think) so for me the achievements of Benn put him higher up than Calzaghe(unless Calzaghe beats Kessler and Pavlik)

Benn>Calzaghe right now, this will change if Calzaghe beats Kessler then beats another top 10 p4p in Pavlik or B-Hop

If he beats Kessler (big if) then its worthy of debate.
If he beats another top ranked opponent ie-Bute,Pavlick,Dawson or even Woods then its obvious he's an atg.
Otherwise no. The talent is easily there but not the resume.

calzaghe will go into the hall of fame even if he loses to kessler.

kessler how ever, is on the fast track to surpass calzaghe.

if kessler beats calzaghe, he would have done a few things already in his career that calzaghe didn't. unfiy titles quickly. and has the confidence to travel into someone elses backyard for fight.

calzaghe has fought in denmark and germany. the german fight was against a guy he had previously ko'ed in the first round back in the UK. and the denmark fight was against nobody special.

kessler has fought in USA, Australia, and next week in UK.
the fight in Australia was verses a highly ranked fighter in mundine, and now his fight in the UK is verses the no1. HOF champ calzaghe.

also kessler has shown consistancy in his fights. he never seems to lose focus for a moment. while calzaghe went life and death with reid, and had bad showings against some fighters he "couldn't get up for".

kessler has 18 clean ko's to joes 2. he also is unifying while still 28 years old. joe is nearly retired at 35 and it took all this time to get this defining fight.

if kessler wins, and he then travels to america for some big fights such as against pavlik, taylor etc. it will only further cement his position higher in the HOF ranks than calzaghe. i mean, calzaghe says he is willing to hang around for pavlik, but i bet if he gets pass kessler he'll go for the easier fight against a 43 year old hopkins purely for a name on his record, despite the fact hopkins wont be the same fighter he once was.

Doesnt have the resume to reach ATG status win or lose, if he beats Kessler he proves alot to alot of people.
