If Calzaghe retires, does that mean Hopkins-Dawson?

Nah, I don't think it will - Dawson is not a big enough name yet, and it would be too much risk vs reward for Hopkins. The only logical fight left for Hopkins is a bout with RJJ. Then they should both hang up their gloves, and be proud of themselves.

it is the logical fight, but just like calzaghe, hopkins might think dawson is not worth the payday.

hopkins is not a draw, only 4000 turned up to watch him fight calzaghe.
only a few hundred watched dawson fight tarver.

while i would like to see it, can think of ways both fighters would be effective, i cant see how fiancially dawson will meet hopkins demands.

very good fight for the diehards , but tv execs will look at potential numbers and IMO they will say they do not add up.

How do you see the landscape unfolding with Calzaghe, Dawson, Hopkins, RJJ, etc?

What do you think might happen, Sean?

I sure hope not....If Jones would have made good enough showing for himself, I would have preferred a farewell fight between he and Hopkins. Now I don't any purpose of Jones fighting on. Dawson, at this stage, might just be too fast and strong for Hopkins. I would hate to see Hopkins go out with a L. I know its wishful thinking, but I hope he retires

Please B-Hop, give us the lasting image of you giving a boxing lesson to a young lion. Don't become another tragic figure in boxing

    You're selling Adamek WAY SHORT!

A bum? Get the **** out of here! Adamek is a very good fighter, and I believe he will prove that once again against Cunningham.

He fought the wrong fight against Dawson, and if those two ever met again, I suspect Adamek would do better.

Didn't Tarver excercise the rematch clause? And Bernard said he needs to fight in the next period, so February at the latest.

if calzaghe does fight (not sure he will )again it will be in cardiff v a fighter he will be a big favourite to beat.

i cannot see it being dawson.

calzaghe is astute he knows that dawson is his biggest threat.

calzaghe can fight anyone and get a big crowd and does not require a name for a draw.

he might call it his final farewell victory tour or some such crap and fight the number 100 ranked .

dawson sadly will fight tarver again, and beat him again.

hopkins , not sure, he might retire

only fights out there for him is dawson/jones/johnson.

none have shown an intrest in erdei/diaconu/is garay the new champ from a vacated belt?

roy only has hopkins, cannot see any other fight out there for him bar retirement.

dawson is the man as i see jones/hopkins/calzaghe all having one final fight at most and thats it.
