Nobody hammered Johnson (apart from Hopkins), you're misreading my initial post. However, Johnson has been beaten by several guys who have been hammered by either Calzaghe or guys he has beaten. Example, Johnson lost to Sheika who Calzaghe tore apart in five one-sided rounds. Johnson lost to Vanderpool who was stopped by Lacy (don't even get me started on what Calzaghe did to him). Johnson lost to Branco who Richie Woodhall stopped. Johnson split three fights with Woods who was clowned by David Starie. Calz was happy to take on all those fighters. So if you're asking me to believe Johnson had anything those fighters didn't then I find it rather a stretch.

No offense but thats the most ludicrous A > B > C post I've ever seen.

 

Care to say why? As stated, I don't necessarily buy it where one off fights are concerned, the sport is too style-dependant. However, where one fighter has consistently been panning opposition who have beaten another, as in four or five different form lines which all point to the same thing, I feel it says something about the gulf in class between the two fighters.

 

I don't care to be honest, anyone can say anything they want about him, each to their own...

I like watching Calzaghe probably as much as anyone outside of Wales, but you guys saying he's better than Roy Jones are like Pac fans saying he'd beat Tommy Hearns...youre just making your boy look bad imo

 

'Branco Sheika or Vanderpool' can however be anagrammed to: 'Bernard Hopkins, A loo cover' for what that's worth...

 

Who's nationalistic? I'm Irish, I don't give a toss about a fight between a Welshman and a Jamaican! You're gonna have to come out with something better than that. I just don't see why on earth a fighter with 12 losses, who has been beaten by far more world class fighters than he has beaten (even if some were arguable) is seen as such a deity, besides the fact that he happened to beat a past-it Jones. These are clear form lines. The Sheika fights, for example, were one after the other. And the guy has been losing all through his career to the kind of guys Calzaghe has been chewing up. There are fighters who would have improved his resume out there but Johnson ain't one of them!

Who the **** ever said that? If you read my posts today, you would know that I have never said that for one second. In fact just the opposite (see post #65 on this thread).

I could not care less what anyone says about Calzaghe, this board is all about opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs, I would not want to change that. However, I will feel free to debate it if I don't agree. That, after all, is what this board is all about!

Spadafora drew with Leonard Dorin who lost to Arturo Gatti who lost to mayweather who had a kind of close fight with Oscar who lost to bhop who lost to Joe Calzaghe!

How long can you Americans ignore the obvious evidence :?
