He would have multiple losses and would be an "opponent", fighting up and comers on ESPN.

he would have lost alot more. the level of opposition here is far greater than in europe. still a fairly decent fighter though

Well so far none of your guys have managed it! I remember when the US produced good HW's. Long ago it was. But I remember.

Possibly if he took the complete opposite road that he has taken with regards to his career in the UK.....Aside from being undefeated that is.

If Joe were to be American and he faught the same kind of guys he has been feasting on for years in the UK....he'd have the same kind of status that he presently has....which isn't bad but it's not great either.

If Joe were american and acutally tested himself in the same kind of way that DLH, Pac Man, MAB, Holy, Tito ect...ect...ect..and he still was undefeated then YES! He'd be the best ever aside from Ray Robinson...now Joe would have had to beat his peers like Roy Jones, Bhop, James Toney ect. ect. ect. to get that kind of title as an ATG.

Its all about who you fight and how you preform....too many of Joes fans go too much on his undefeated record when anyone can have an undefeated record.

Yeah that's right. If he had happened to be born in the States, Reid, Eubank, Sheika, Lacy, Brewer, Mitchell, Kessler et al might have had a chance to beat him. :patsch :patsch

No folks. I'm sorry to say that no matter what country your record and actions still speak for themselves. All you Euro-Calzaghe fans who think Americans hate on him just because he's not American, take a look at Tyrone Brunson. 19 1st rd KO's 19 fights, a philly fighter. NO ONE was giving him any credit because its obvious who he was fighting. So please stop thinking that Calzaghe not being American has anything to do with us not being Calzaghe nuthuggers. His record and actions speak for themselves.

Only those guys weren't his peers. None of them ever fought at 168 at the time he was a titlist.

    No. Think, before you post.

If he had been born in the states, he would have been forced to face guys like a PRIME roy jones, a PRIME (and not MID DAMN FORTIES) Bernard Hopkins, James Toney etc...

If he didn't face these guys, Americans wouldn't have looked twice his way (unlike the Brits). And if he did, that's AT LEAST 3 losses...

Oh, and Reid already beat Calzaghe, if we use the Calzaghe-fanboy trick of punch stat numbers... :deal

Calzaghe was a good fighter in his younger days , he didnt get this slappy punchs style during the beggining of his career his jabs were straights and his speed on his punchs was better and more accurate he actully had force behind his jhooks and uppercuts which did manage to hurt opponents , if joe had grown up in say New York he would of had a big following from the italian fans and probs of become a fight fan favourite , he would of had a few wins over some really good top fighters but would of been forced into a fight against roy jones or james toney which i think would of beating joe but his career would be more or less the same than his career in europe but fight fans would respect him more for taking on fighters like jones in his prime but still europe or american he would of had spot in the hall of fame
