Then the argument of DLH winning against Sturm would apply here. Calzaghe's punches landed mostly on Hop's back, elbows, and shoulders. The same happened in the DLH-Sturm fight. DLH did not really land any meaningful punches and Sturm punched one at a time.
i actually agree with what your saying. yea joe was far more active but at the same time he wasn't landing anything of real effect. even in the replays they would show most of his combinations would miss and what would land could barely be considered punches. but i suppose it looked flashy and caught the eye of the judges.
just watched the replay on stetanta. calzaghe socred with plenty of clean shots on hopkins. difference was hopkins was looking for those one or 2 clean shots a round and calzaghe after he landed his shots kept pressing and letting his hands go. hopkins wanted a slow pace calzaghe in the second half of the fight stepped on the gas and took hopkins out of the comfort zone he has been used to. it won calzaghe the fight.
thats how i saw it too. Not sure why people are so annoyed???:huh if bhop has 1/2 solid punches on joe, joe had ,4,5-8 scoring puncches and kept up the agression i just cannot see how i could give it to Bhopatsch if bhop didn't take that 'rest' in rnd 10 he i am sure would of been stopped he was blowing hard in rounds 9/10 and joe commented bhop was slowing and getting tired and he had a lot of energy left and was going to go up another gear in rounds 11,12
i dont believe that. to DLH's credit he didnt land 120 punches. he landed like 180 or so and he threw a lot more than hops did in this fight what im saying is the DLH fight was more competitive due to DLH landing more and throwing more than hops did against calzaghe. hops did not do enough IMO
