canelo has the fanbase, and he has it in spades he is easily ahead of mattysse in terms of the fights he can command - the problem is that he hasn't commanded too many legit fights yet for a man who has fought a lot of pro fights this won't matter if he beats trout, because if he does he can fight anyone he wants he still hasn't earnt his stripes as a big player though - but the trout fight is a great fight because one of them becomes a legit player after this...canelo just has an easier path to bigger paydays than trout does IF he wins

A win over Trout at 154 easily trumps any win (including Judah and Alexander, if you count those) on Mathysse's resume.
Matthysse was seen as the winner by a lot of people vs. Judah and Alexander. Personally, it takes more then just one good win from Canelo to equal Matthysse. don't forget, he also has a few quality wins over contenders like Harris and Soto.
exactly, but he hasnt beat Trout yet, Alexander is a better win than a old Mosley, Judah at least fights back and Olusegun is better than Cintron and Gomez if he beats Trout he will be ahead of Matthysse in terms of wins, but i dont think he will
