i think that is what he is trying for, to be come unified champ in 168 (beating Saunders and Plant)

There are three answers to this :
    1. Mexican answer - of course
    2. Floyd fanboy answer - no way
    3. Realists answer - which is, it depends.

If you acknowledge Floyd's career isn't as great as advertised, a real win over David Benavidez would be better than most of Floyd's work, particularly the A-side low risk period of his career. However, Canelo has clearly won several questionable decisions throughout his own career, how should they be viewed? What about PEDs, maybe not a factor as they were both users of something. If Canelo also beat Beterbiev or even Bivol there should be strong consideration that his career has exceeded Floyd's.

Floyd never really loaded the dice against his opponents the way Canelo did.....

I think if he beats GGG 3, Benavides, Saunders, Plant, Bivol, Beterbiev? A very, very good case can be made.

Both guys had a few dodgy decisions. Suspicions and substantiated accusatiions swirled around substances. Criticisms of matchmaking and choices exist for both.

Floyd was spectacular at the lower weights on his spectrum. Canelo needs to be spectacular at the higher weights of his spectrum.

Canelo is great but for me, he won't ever rate above Floyd as he doesn't have great opponents to face. As skilled as Lara, Trout, Smith etc are, they are not massive names. The only massive win he has is over GGG. Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley, De la Hoya, JMM, Hatton etc are massive names on Floyd's resume.

168 is a garbage division. Not only does cleaning it out NOT count as an argument over Floyd, not cleaning it out will be the ultimate argument against him ever being 'over Floyd'.

I’d easily rate Kovalev and Jacobs on the level with some of those others. All were top of the division, if no longer in their prime, guys. Some further than others, some were weights above their prime weights, some more shopworn than others, but they’re comparable.

Nope his legacy is so completely tarnished at this point.. Tarnished beyond repair... BJS is clearly **** at 168 compared to 160 that's why Canelos taken the fight.. Plant has always been ****

Oh Floyds also a card stacking cherry picking fraud... Neither Canelo or Mayweather I class as legitimate boxers they're just fraudsters who have been fooling the simple minded and naive for years.

Nothing more than a circus and equivalent to WWE

Lol. The realist answer is no. The wishful thinking of someone who wants to say yes but knows they would be lying is "it depends"

No, the division isn't that great. But if he cleans it up and moves up again and wins no doubt he's surpassed him but it likely wont happen
