Yeah this fight needs to happen this year. I hate the fact that Canelos fighting Angulo instead of Molina or Lara.

 

We all know this fight wont happen, Canelo would get completely schooled and some people dont know who Lara is so would hurt Canelo's marketability

They will probably try and make Lara vs Angulo II or Lara vs Kirkland in an attempt to get Lara a loss

 

Of course he will duck him. Lara is a non english speaking cuban. Cuban fighters are great, they just aren't marketable. Boxing is too much about marketing so matches like Lara/Canelo don't get made. Lara is better than Canelo, I have no doubt and think there is about a 75% chance he wins if he fights Canelo. But Canelo won't want to get another tally in the "L" column this early in his career for so little money.

It's gonna be Molina Vs. Charlo, Looks like Lara is assed out of that fight aswell.

 

Lara has no following and a far from fan friendly style. In an ideal world these wouldn't be factors but they are. The networks don't want it and Canelo's handlers def don't want it but Saul himself? He prob doesn't care. It'd have been a mega tough fight to take when coming back from a one sided schooling so I can forgive him for not wanting it as a comeback fight.

His problem is that he is a very marketable commodity which means his promoters don't want to take risks with him - love or hate mayweather he is at the pinnacle of the sport and so a loss to such an illustrious name wasn't going to harm such a young champion's reputation. People forget he practically had to demand to fight Trout before that fight was made.

 

I would like to see that fight but I cannot call something a duck unless they walking away from big money in the long term. After Floyd, Lara is mos def the best at 154 but the guy has to earn the shot in and OUT of the ring. I do not get guys who box and do not learn english. If you are Mexican I can understand because you have a large potential following at home and in the USA, but if you are from anywhere else you should spend as much time learning english as in the Gym. No bosy is saying that they have to do it but it would help their career and the bank account. Canelo does not have a belt so he does not have a mandatory. I am a huge fan of Cuban boxing but they gotta cant be set in their ways and try to become a bit more mainstream

 

You say he isn't going to lose to Angulo. I say there is a decent chance of it.
