He doesn't need to learn English, he's already the next PPV star.

Who cares about PPV, really? He's like what, 24 years old? He should concentrate on building a legacy rather than trying to be a "ginger Mayweather". Money won't be a problem as long as he fights top challengers and knocks them out.

I think his lack of urgency vs Floyd and the abysmal Lara fight might have hurt him

If the Cotto fight happens and he wins spectacularly and fights Golovkin and wins he can be a star

Canelo is already a superstar. He's arguably Mexico's biggest sportsman. He's the second coming of Oscar

canelo will be boxing's biggest star regardless of the language barrier, after he beats cotto his stock will rise even more among the latino fanbase, and with floyd and manny close to retirement in a couple of years canelo will be alone in the top, he is already well ahead of the rest on a race for the crown... time is his biggest advantage... only tyson was more popular than him at 23, so he is already on the track for big things...

Canelo has the whole package of a star .

He has respectable skills and absolutely refuses to duck any fighter even when Oscar tells him to .

Massive respect for that young man .

As some mention I think he lacks the skill to consistently win at top level. He is moving to MW where he will have to cope with GGG. If GGG kicks his ass I can't see him becoming a PPV star he will be stuck in a division where he is the second best. He won't be a big MW by any means. If he somehow manages to beat Golovkin than he can be the next big thing.

Mayweather never dominated Castillo, Judah, Hernandez, De La Hoya, Cotto, Maidana....

Oscar was a huge PPV star, probably the biggest success story to come out of boxing, and had several fights even before his Peak as a super star where he didn't dominate and even lost.

Mosley I, Whitaker, Quartey, Molina, Sturm.

The thing that De La Hoya, and Alvarez have in common and that seperates them from the Mayweather,s RJJ's, and other top fighters is that win or lose they will challenege themselves against whoever the fights want to see them up against. :deal

As long as Canelo continues to fight the best like he has been for the past couple years now, and even if he loses as long as he gives the fans what they want, he will continue to rise as a star.

Wow..... Really.... you are the definition of insecure, I guess you're telling us that you can't tell the difference between Paul Giamatti and Canelo Alvarez looks wise:lol:
It makes you look very gay not wanting to admit what most normal men are readily willing to admit to, Canelo is a good looking guy. But its freaks the hell out of you someone stating the obvious.:blood
His good looks are an asset with female fans, the point of the thread is whether or not he can be a big PPV star, well his looks don't hurt.

To answer the question learning English wouldn't hurt.

more entretaining that Cotto GTFO cotto had never being in a boring fight, plus had a few fight of the year candidates. Canelo had a boring ass fight with Floyd and Lara plus had done nothing to being close to entretaining than Floyd, still Canelo is fun to watch.

doubtful. He isn't exciting doesn't have KO power and if he moves up to 160 one day he is going to have even less power and be more vulnerable.
