If Canelo wins it'll give Floyd's resume a huge boost.

I really don't understand when people say stuff like this.

Why? Why should it change Mayweathers resume?

Floyd fought a green Canelo and humiliated him. He toyed with him and proved how many levels above Canelo he was.
Why should Canelo beating a fighter with limited skills & poor work rate effect Floyds proven career?

This fight should effect Canelos resume, and his resume only. He will beat a lazy weight drained fighter that is significantly taller than himself. So what?

Floyd proved his worth. He doesn't need fighters like Canelo to add bums to his name like Chavez Jr.

If Alvarez was fighting the best Mexican at 168 then I'd agree but that isn't the case.

Canelo is expected to win, so winning isn't going to change either his legacy or Floyd's much. Canelo losing would hurt his own legacy significantly, and there might be a slight follow-on effect re Floyd.

But as kiwi_boxer said, Floyd has proved his worth regardless of what Canelo goes on to do.

IMO Chavez had a better chance challenging Zurdo @168lbs & getting a win than he does Vs. Alvarez.

That would be Gilberto Ramirez. He wants no parts of that.

Since Alvarez is such a favorite, him winning will do nothing at this point for FLoyd's career. If Canelo loses it lowers floyd a little.

    It doesn't mean anthing

Canelo could go onto the a HOF'er

still doesn't take away from the fact he was drained and fresh meat for Floyd.

The only thing that will boost floyd resume is if canelo beats GGG. Because that win will turn canelo accomplishment from good to great.
So in turns make floyd beat a great in canelo.

The fight will say something about Canelo's resume, and indeed Chavez's resume. But with regards to Floyd's resume, this fight is irrelevant.

I saw people making similar claims about Calzaghe, when Bernard continued having success at an advanced age after their fight together.

In my opinion, this line of reason is grossly lacking, and I view it is something that tends to be even less reputable than the long debunked triangle theory.

Absolutely no effect good or bad about Mayweather's resume.

At 147, Mayweather beats the girly snot out of Golovkin. It wouldn't even be a contest.
