I think GGG has a good shot at beating Canelo. I think the odds reflect on what alot of people are seeing now after Canelo took that loss to bivol. Styles make great fights but GGG is no Plant or BJS in terms of chin. I think its going to be another close fight where the better fighter will win.
I agree with everything you said except this. Golovkin has been aging in front of our eyes for the last three or four fights so it won't be overnight. It's that very reason which makes picking Alvarez to win the logical choice.
You seem to be pretty fired up about this. What are YOU going to do about it? Seeing as how it's unacceptable and all. At the very least a man of your moral authority must disassociate himself from this...this vileness incarnate. Yes! Let this be the beginning of your righteous crusade! You must boycott everything to do with this manifestation of evil and corruption. Nary another word uttered concerning this cancer upon society. This boxing. Set things aright with a caring purposeful ignorance to commence this very day! Show us the way!
Funny, just remembering ODH in his heyday, such a megastar, yet close fights usually seemed to go against him! In fact, was Oscar ever the beneficiary of a single outrageous score in his favor? What if we went back in time, and Oscar was guilty of the exact same stuff that Alvarez is today - wouldn't Ring Magazine or the HBO team or whoever, grill him (insert George Foreman joke here)?
I agree he has but I mean to the point where that granite chin no longer stands up. I've seen it before where you can observe that decline and at some point they suddenly look their age. I remember getting that feeling in Hopkins last fight where before you could see that slowing down but then it was clearly the end. I hope GGG has a compeitive fight and retires. He was aged out by Canelo whichever way you cut it and GGG clearly won the first and I thought he just nicked the second but I can see it being a draw. The record books don't show that but most who watched it know that.
You are right. There is aging and then there is getting old. Like you, I hope Big Drama Show gives a good accounting of himself and calls it a day, win, lose or draw.
Many people thought he lost against Pernell Whitaker and Ike Quartey but to be honest I've not seen those fights in a long time so can't really remember whether they were or not. I think they were closer than the Sturm fight that was a clear robbery. Oscar got jobbed against Mosley and Trinidad. some would say against Mayweather but I thought Floyd won that fairly and clearly.
Yeah I thought Whitaker and Mayweather beat Oscar too, and he beat Quartey. Compared to how much bigger a star Oscar was than Canelo, I'm surprised there aren't loads of controversies in his career.
Paid his way out of a manslaughter charge Paid his way out of an assault charge Paid his way out of blood testing and instead went with hair follicle testing Corrupt judges all through the peak of his career Nothing is going to happen to Canelo. Bob Bennet made it clear as day, that he saw nothing wrong with what CJ Ross or Adelaide Byrd did...
I think that's the difference though with Oscar it was fairly even in terms of he got the nod on a few occasions and lost a few so it balanced out. With Canelo and fighting in Vegas they have gone his way every time so I think that's why it sticks out to people. Yes he just lost to Bivol but that was a schooling and the judges had it 7-5 which is a joke.
