If Carl Froch manages to beat Jermain Taylor, it will be a huge achievement!

No he was just real tentative and seemed to show them too much respect as if they were punchers.Spinks had a case in that fight hence the SD-one judge scored it 117-111 in favour of Spinks I believe. He stole alot of rounds late on and the Taylor corner certainly panicked going into the last couple of rounds

Well, if you go on achievement alone, and not on level of performance, if Froch beats Taylor, he'd have beaten someone who hadn't beaten a Top 10 SMW...because Lacy wasn't one when he beat him...so...why exactly would that be more of an achievement than what Kessler and Bute have achieved at SMW, for example? (Couldn't Taylor be a great MW but not a great SMW?):good

If Spinks was champ he'd have won that fight IMO.The rounds he won he was on his bike and weren't convincing to the judges.Close rounds would usually go in favour of the champion

:goodVery true too long now people have been saying what Kessler would do to people

About Kessler, downgrading him because he has problems with his promoter and because he can't get the fights he wants or deserves is a bit silly...and certainly doesn't prove that Bute, Taylor, etc. have achieved more at SMW or that they looked like beating him based on their last couple of performances...

    Achieved ?

Well, if Staying at home and fighting B-class opponents like Joppy, Bika and Zuniga is worthy of your respect..

Then how much respect would you give to Bute if he came out and said publicly "No, I'm not going to sit in my comfort zone fighting beatable has-beens and never-beens - instead im going to take my title to America and fight Jermain Taylor on American TV and knock his head off"

Because thats what Froch is doing.

Yeah and apart from being a spirited runner-up, Andrade has won nothing himself either.

Librado admitted he was nowhere ready for that challenge but took it anyway.

The reason it came about, was that Bute vacated his shot at Kessler and Andrade got promoted into that position.

...sure, you're right! But then, you can no longer go JUST on achievement alone, as you insist on doing...you have to go on level of performance as well...

...in other words, Taylor needs to PROVE he performs really well at the weight for a Froch win over him to really count for as much as you'd like it to...(it's not just enough that Froch beats him, full stop.)
