If Carl Froch manages to beat Jermain Taylor, it will be a huge achievement!

This kind of attitude is negative and depressing.

In essence it is hedging your bets. If Taylor wins you called it, if he doesn't you are completely prepared to give Froch no credit and blame everything on Taylor with no firm reason other than Taylor has been in the ring with so and so.

Taylor was the favourite going into the fight against Pavlik, quite rightly. He fought the legend Hopkins. Did you apply the same standard to that fight? Pavlik gets zero credit if he wins because on paper Taylor should win? Wouldn't you have been upset if people took that stance?

I think you are wrong about that. Andrade was paid § 500.000 to step a side his mandatory, because Kessler wanted to unified against Beyer/WBC. Then Andrade got § 500.000 more when they fight the mandatory/WBA.

    That's all I was asking for.:good

Right...there are legitimate questions over Taylor's mental preparation and desire, about his temperament - will he stick to the gameplan or lose the plot and brawl - and about how well he's suited to the weight...

...but if there are few reasons to write him off at 168 lbs given his performance on the night, Froch should be give credit. How much, again, depends on their levels of performance...we can all agree on that.:good

If Froch were to beat a version of JT that looked really good, I would be forced to give him credit for it. I even give Calzaghe credit for some things, and you know I hate that ****er:hey

But sometimes you have to accept that the opponent can cause a fighter not to look good. It's a 2 way street as far as how the styles gel, and how they allow each other to perform on the night.

This might sound difficult for you to envisage right now, but I think you should really accept you misjudged the fight rather than blame Taylor for everything if he loses. That is quite a bitter and twisted attitude to take, not without bias either.

I think Taylor is going to win, if I get that wrong I'm going to be forced to acknowledge that and give credit to Froch for beating a world class fighter that fought the guys you mentioned. All the reasons you mention for why Froch should lose are actually things that would force me to give Froch credit if he won.

Before the Hopkins - Calzaghe fight - i stated that Hopkins wouldn't win one single round. I was wrong and i think Hopkins won the fight.

Before the Bute - Andrade fight i expect Bute to win because i wanted him to face Kessler, but i was wrong, Andrade won that fight.

Quit simple - the winner of Taylor - Froch. And i think Froch will win - (but i could be wrong)

**** -- what's with you and Decebal ganging up on me:|

I'm ill prepared to handle you ****ers tag teamin' me:nono

My honest opinion is that any decent version of Taylor beats Froch. It JT loses, it will be because he is no longer capable of beating B level guys, and should retire. Name a style Taylor has not already dealt with in some manner? Slicksters, speedsters, sluggers, stalkers, et, Taylor has faced them all. If he can't manage a guy as crude as Froch, there's a problem.

Umm, actually I would say Taylor does have question marks over him against certain styles. For all his physical talent, he is at his best against boxers, like Hopkins and Wright. Against Pavlik, he had a lot more trouble under pressure, against a guy that will take a punch to throw a few back, Wright and Hopkins were not inclined to do so.

In that respect I see why people might pick Froch even though I disagree.

The problem could be that Froch at SMW hits harder than Taylor's ever been able to shake off before, at MW...:D
