If Carl Froch manages to beat Jermain Taylor, it will be a huge achievement!

...especially if you lose to a man who (in my book, anyway) won a close but clear decision over Hopkins and then got a draw against him in the rematch...

I expect Froch to win and stun Taylor badly along the way. But yeah, it's still a big achievement.

anyone who says froch is physically incapable of beating a non-shot taylor is an idiot. other fighters in his mould have beaten top fighters with alot more speed. most people agree that taylor will outbox froch initially but only a fool would completely discount the possibility of froch weathering the storm and landing hard later on.

i also find it pretty god damn amusing that the 2 harshest critics of froch and are calling him limited are pavlik huggers!

Taylor is blown up middle who hasn't been the same since Pavlik brutally KTFO'd him.

Beating him at 168 is hardly a noteworthy achievement.

surprise is fine. i happen to think taylor is odds-on to win but not by much. its all this chat about taylor definitely being completely shot if he loses which is ridiculous.

I expect a close fight, specially in the later rounds where Taylor seems tired and starts to make some silly mistakes.

I see it the same way here we tend to overrated Americans and underrate Euro's. Joe Calzaghe said it well when he mentioned that nobody stated the fact that he had fought more current or former (and future!) World Champions before the Roy Jones fight of the two.

People who say that Taylor is shot don't know the first thing about boxing. It won't surprise me if Froch pressures Taylor and knocks him out. Taylor doesn't like being pressured. That ain't got **** to do with being shot.

Good point, Taylor may never win another fight or became World Champ but shot in any case he is not a shot boxer!

Did Pavlik take something from Taylor mentally yes indeed-but this is not like the Calzaghe/Lacy career changing beating.
