You dont be JCC sparring partner for all of those years and NOT know how to take a left hook to the liver which was one of his patent punches. Hatton has battered weaker fighters with the same shots and they kept getting up. HE IS NOT COTTO. It was a clean hook to the body, not a crushing shot. I have seen worse in ANY Cotto fight.
Tried to hold on to the fast-growing pain inside and took a lotta time to get that pain off him... I don't understand is how a MAN goes down, rolls over and then hammers the canvas like Hoya did after being caught on the side by Hopkins in the ninth.
Agreed, he was getting tagged more and more to the body as the fight went on with some body shots that were set up well.
True, Cotto has much more of a blast shot like the one which dislodged Branco's arm from its socket. But I guess that JLC was not expecting that one, even if he was sparring with all time great hooker JCC, remember Mark Twain "What gets us into trouble is not what we dont know, its what we know for sure but just isnt so", Castillo thought that he would sap all the energy from Hatton, taking it, roughing him up inside so he stayed but was caught. I feel Ricky Hatton is not as strong as Cotto but he's much more uncomfortable to fight against.
Watch the round again guys. Castillo was caught at least a half dozen times with hard left hooks to the body. And really, he caught some pretty wicked body punches in the three prior rounds too. It's not as if the broken ribs/fractures happened off just that one shot.
Your right..must of been a ringer, someone pretending to be Castillo, how did the Hatton camp switch them tho without anyone seeing?
well castillo obviously quit.all the evidence in his carreer leading up to the fight suggested he was a quitter, never a proud warrior.he was the type who would have had no problem being remembered for going down on one knee faking injury.it was obviously a nothing punch.
:nono Most where hyped til JLC got beat, then changed tune. Fighting for free?? BS, but BS caused by his own doingm in not making weight previously. I dont like how they did him, but it was what it was. Ribs? There where reports of 4 broken/fractured ribs and the videos and photo's show great bodyshots.
i guess it just depends on the person...my boy fractured 3 ribs and fought a month later with no problem....
it's funny how people talk and compare left hooks... ahahahahaahahahahahah let someone hit you in the ribs that ****en hard
it was a crushing shot, one of the baddest body shots you can take.... did it break 4 ribs? NO WAY! he would be out at least 1 year with no training just for complete recovery. did he bruise his ribs?? probably which would take a few months for omplete recovery which bruised ribs are very very bad in itself.
