Can't watch sports in the workplace. Best I can do is throw in these ownage threads, go back to work, come back after office hours, only to see that nobody can come up with an intelligent reply other than "those other catchweight fights didn't drain anybody". :patsch

pacman drained all those guys he was accusing of draining. if not then it would be no catchweight in the first place. if 145 and no big deal for 147 then why not 147, you think cotto did not feel those 2 pounds ? its funny how he went to 154 afterwards then huh.same with margartio and damn sure oscar.good big man will beat the good lil man unless you have catch weights then the big man is screwed.

No. Pacquiao wanted it at 143 and Cotto insisted he would not go below 145.

Of course a catchweight benefits the smaller fighter you idiot

If I am in the 168 division

And I agree to come in lower than 168, it is obviously to level the playing field for a smaller man, I wouldn't be doing it for myself would I?

How hard is that to comprehend?

The outcomes of the fight are irrlevent, as I said, Freddie Roach himself said he wanted fighters at catchweights to give Pac an advantage, so your OPINION on the matter is also irrlevent, because the actual reason was given by the man who had the arrangements made

If Floyd or Pac fights Martinez at 150, do you think that benefits Sergio?

ODLH was drained but it was his own fault as he somehow thought he could make 147 for the first time in many years despite being 35 or whatever he was.

Cotto was only one pound lighter than his last fight, I dont think he was drained but they should have fought him at 147, i think they were still unsure whether manny had jumped up too many divisions at the time.

Margarito fight was a fair weight as neither had fought up there (maybes margo once) but the title being on the line was BS.

I havent got a problem with catchweight fights as if it affects one guy badly then its there own stupid fault for agreeing in the first place, the titles should not be on the line though.

Bingo. Cotto and his Dr. said 145 was the lowest safe weight he could go. Not surprising, as it was only 1 pound less than what he weighed in against Joshua Clottey just a few months before.

PC: Was coming down to 145 tougher than you thought it would be since you hadn’t weighed 145 or less since 2006?

MC: I felt really good at that weight. It wasn’t a problem for me.

:lol: Why do Pac's fans do this to themselves... Roach was too honest for his own good. Wants to take something away from every fighter Pac faces BEFORE they get into the ring. :verysad

Exactly, Pac was trying to drain him down to unsafe weights at 143 and Cotto's doctor had to say that it would kill him and not go to below 145

No fighter is going to say I feel **** before a fight

all you've done is proven that team Pacquiao were trying to drain Cotto to a weight that a medical professional said was unsafe, and instead he fought at a weight which was the minimum he could go without being in serious danger, sounds real healthy
