Can someone explain to me how Chavez who is likely to enter the ring close to 180 pounds by some people's guesses, how does he get away with that for a 160 pound fight?

I'm not sure how he usually does it but all the missed drug tests point toward illegal diaretics, which he's already been busted doing against Troy Rowland. I think Roach is smart enough to know Martinez's team won't play ball if team Chavez tries to sneak out of another drug test they'll get busted.

So the big emphasis for Roach and Ariza has probably been to get Chavez as close to actually weighing 160 as possible.

So the word is your saying is that Chavez is now having trouble actually losing weight because the scrutiny is much higher on him to take the tests and actually lose weight the old fashioned way?

Let's say he did tip the scales at say 173 pounds, would he be penalised?
Im a noob when it comes to this side of boxing on what rules apply with weighs ins.

If he makes the 160 pound limit, that's all that should matter.

Well he can afford to pay the fines. I would not be surprised if he pulls a Mayweather/Broner.
