gone up to MW like Duran did, how would he have done? Could he have taken out Davey Moore? Could he have given Hagler some trouble? Could he have outfought Barkley?

Nope, no and no. Chavez wasn't even able to make welterweight properly in his career, he just couldn't carry the weight. I also don't think he had the refined defensive technique Duran had that allowed him to take the effect off alot of the bigger mens punches. He was good defensively but he wasn't on Duran's level

Chavez couldn't move up that fast in weight to fight guys like Hagler. It would have to of been in the late 90's. Moving up pas 147 would have been suicide for him at any point in time.

Marvin Hagler would have stopped Chavez 11 or 12.

If you are saying if Chavez had the same bodytype as Duran, then maybe but remember Chavez started out as a Featherweight & Jr. Welterweight was pretty much the limit as with Arguello & plenty of other great Featherweights. Duran was big for a Lightweight, There were plenty of legendary stories of Duran fasting , before big fights to make weight. This is why he easily moved into the Welterweight division & bypassing the Jr. Welter. Division. Plus Duran had the power & chin to handle the bigger fighters. As well as being one of the most intense fighter of all time, he could almost will himself to overcome any obsticale.
