We've all heard plenty of Chavez fans say that if he had only concentrated earlier in the fight he would have knocked sergio out due to his size advantage and pressure. Don't you guys remember Sergio vs Pavlik? Pavlik was a stronger puncher than chavez and also had a 20lb weight advantage. He was applying much more pressure by walking foward and throwing a higher number of shots than chavez did. Yet, he still couldn't deal with sergios movement and counters, which is why he got messed up. If chavez jr steps into the ring throwing aggressively right from the beginning with a fresh martinez, he's going to be met with constant counters and end up exhausted by the 5 round. Unless chavez jr magically learns to box in the next few months he's going to get owned again by a hopefuly wiser martinez who won't get cocky in the final round.
If Chavez had turned the pressure on earlier he would have been caught and knocked out himself, everytime he opened up Martinez sliced him up
Two things could have happened. 1. Chavez opens up but gets countered to death and loses by cut or possibly gets stopped. 2. Chavez opens up and takes all of martinez's artillery and eventually breaks Martinez down for the TKO win.
