Tough fighter who always came ready to give his best effort. He should retire. No big fights left for him.
Chisora has some inconsistancy in his career usually going the distance only Haye clipped him in 5 rounds and Haye was fortunate that landed as he was gassing badly himself. He's usually been entertaining and he has shown heart and also been robbed at lest a couple of times. I think he has few left in him I thought both him and Parker were better this time than the first fight. It's difficult to give him grief as at least he has a go even. if he's never had the skills to beat the top guys he's run a few pretty close. He'll carry on I think he's earning decent money.
He could probably still make decent money, but at what cost? He's already taken a huge toll on his health carrying on this long, and he needs to weigh up the short term benefits vs the long term repercussion very seriously at this stage.
I don’t think the boxing public were led to believe he was something he wasn’t. I would admit that Chisora may have sacrificed too much for this sport, last nights outing was hard to watch at times. But other fighters should take heed of Chisora’s willingness to fight the best. Too many protected fighters these days, too many unwilling to test themselves until it’s too late.
I think Chisora needs to stop - like right now. As absolutely *enthralling* as the prospect of a "Chisora v. Babic" fight would be - I don't want the man accruing any more long-term damage to his person in the ring. On the topic of never having the skills to beat the top guys - you have reminded me of an interesting fact. Chisora was only the 2nd man to go the distance against Vitali Klitschko (not counting fights where Vitali's shoulder gave out) . He had nowhere near the skills of the first man (Timo Hoffman) and unlike the first man - actually tried to *fight* Vitali. That's as good of a tribute to Chisora as I can think of.
Absolutely. You root for Chisora for the same reasons you root (rooted?) for Dave Allen I suppose. They take on all comers... Five years into his career and he had already fought Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko, Robert Helenius and David Haye.
He was also on the wrong end of some very questionable decisions. In my opinion, he should have wins over Helenius, Whyte and Parker on his record. Chisora is a true credit to the sport, he took the most dangerous fights and always came to try and win rather than just pick up an easy pay day.
Never seemed to learn to put his body behind his shots, and thus remains a mostly ineffectual arm puncher.
Fighters like Chisora should be treasured in a sport where the vast majority of the top prospects avoid each other - how else can contenders be tested? They don't fight each other. If it wasn't for game fighters like Chisora who will literally fight anybody, the sport would be in an even worse position than it is now. I'm fed up of reading about the dozens of 'brilliant' prospects who fight for nearly 10 years or have 30 fights under their belt while achieving the square root of **** all, but are undefeated or have 1 or 2 losses on their record at most because they're waiting to be handed a pay day.
