If clinching even once got you DQ'd. Which boxers would be the best ever?

He clinched throughout most of the fight. He used clinching as a smart strategic move to negate Margo's aggression and clearly it worked. When Margarito started gaining momentum, Mosley clinched and he had to start from square one. To deny this makes you an idiot

To be honest Mosley was using clinching as a strategy well during that fight. However to say he wouldn't have beaten Margocheato if clinches were banned is ridiculous. Margocheato showed nothing to suggest he had a chance, with or without clinches.

 

How would you know really? Mosley got away with clinching Margo each and every time he got close.. and Margo is an aggressive infighter so Shane completely took away Tony's way of imposing a fight plan.

Not sure who would've actually won had there been no clinching in that fight, but I can tell you one thing for sure, it would have been a lot more competitive. :deal

I don't think I ever seen Tito clinch during his career. I hate excessive holding/clinching, so that's one of the reasons Tito and Morales are my two favourite fighters.

 

I don't think if it got you DQ'ed you would be the best. Worst I can understand but not best. Hatton.

 

i think you misunderstood the title. the TS was just asking if clinching was not allowed in boxing, who will be the best boxer?
