If Josh Clottey beats Pac does he make your top 5 on the P4P list? Not saying it's going to happen, just wondering. Where would you place him?

    NO.

You also have to look at his fights with the other elite "real" welters into consideration.

Depends on how he wins. If he goes all out to destroy Pac and manages it, he goes to about 6 for me. A close decision he is about 8. A draw he scrapes my top 10. Depends how other fighters do also.

No. But The Ring would put him at #3 or something outrageous. They really would. I have little doubt.

hmmm, who in the bottom top 10 would have a better resume? I mean you got someone like Donaire, good fighter, ranked 6th at the moment I believe and he really only has 1 big win against Darchinyan. This victory would trump all over that. Add in his wins over Corrales & Judah (not great) and very close fights with brickfist & Cotto.

pac is #1 and clottey in my eyes beat Cotto who many people still have in their top 10 after loosing to Pac and Margo.

In my opinion when people have neck and neck fights like JMM v Pac and Clottey v Cotto it is not right to have 1 guy so much farther ahead of all the others. Like before DLH v Pac people would have Pac at 1 and JMM at 4 or 5 when they fought to such a close fight it doesnt make sense.

So if Clottey beats Pac legit he needs to be near the top

No, since he'll still have come up short in other big fights. One fight should NOT put you in the top 10.

honestly I can't see him leap frogging from where I have him which is like 25 or 30 all the way to 5. I can see him maybe getting to 10 with a win, but not 5.

He would jump up to a distant #2 miles behind Money.

I won't be surprised if he jumps all the way within top 5, depends on the fashion he managed to win. When Mosley looses to Cotto and won over Margarito, Mosley jumps right in for some reason. But then again, Mosley is a GBP partner - like Bhop.

That's a fair point, but Mosley has a great body of work before Williams that help support his claim right now. I know work from 5-10 years ago shouldnt count but it really does, people want to put recognisable established names on the top and specially if they have a recent big win.

Vernon Forrest beat Shane Mosley twice, but did he rise up the p4p rankings? No. Not really. Same will happen to Clottey.

dude Vernon Forrest was ranked #4 after he beat Mosley twice with only a prime Hopkins, prime RJJ, and prime Barrera ahead of him.
